Can't bat,

Come on guys, he had the 3rd highest score of the innings today. Only SKY and Pandya made more runs. Look at it another way - 10 guys batted. VK was in the top 33%!! That's a huge improvement from the league stages. He has never opened T20Is, and we have to give room for him to grow into this role. Be patient, he will only get better.

Since he is undroppable, hope he turns it around.

I hope so too.

But let's just say, for argument sake, that he fails to impress in the rest of the super 8 encounters. What would happen if RGS and RSD decided to drop him and told him as much? What's the worst outcome?

Kohli's ego and brand value are way too big for him to walk away from a "silly" tournament like the World Cup. Just look at Dhoni!!! He keeps soaking up all the attention even with his pathetic single-digit scores in the IPL. We Indians are such emotional fools, always clinging to the past glories of players who are well past their prime. That’s why actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, and Mohanlal are still hanging around today. Cricketers are no different, they know their massive fanbases are full of sentimental fools, and they exploit this.

Only a small percentage of us with high IQs actually analyze their performances and criticize them, but the remaining 90% are just too dumb and continue to worship these players, fueling business for stadiums, broadcasters, brands, and sponsors. Who in their right mind would give up such adoration and spotlight, even if their World Cup performance is a total zero?

Sachin, Dhoni, Kohli, Rohit, and next, Gill, will all follow this never-ending cycle. It’s sad, really, but Indian cricket and its fans seem to deserve nothing more.

He hasn't done that for more than a decade so don't expect Kohli to show up in knockouts now. Earlier he used to show up in group matches, and this time not even then. Knockouts is beyond Kohli, and has always been. Rohit too as both of them are useless when it really matters.

I think very few of us care about the team instead of players. I would love for us to win world cups,WTCs, and WT20s without even a single player being in Top 10 or Top 20 list, or for a batsman to have max no. of 100s or highest no. of runs. I would trade all of the individual stats in a heartbeat for ICC trophies. And don't really care where the player comes from. They can all be from Assam or Meghalya for all I care as long as they phuckn win the trophies.

As long as team is winning and he performs in semis and finals.Everything will be okay.

It is not like he is failing due to pressure.Rohit being other opener is not helping him all.

But arent you the same one who attacks Sky and Dube like a vulture? Then you dont use the excuse that as long as team is winning all is fine?

You come after youngsters and new players every single time after a couple of failures. Every single new and young player you have done this. But a long string of failure is now ok?

Freaking hypocrite.

No point calling out his hypocrisy. The guy actually said that Jaiswal should come in and bat lower down the order so that Lord Kohli is not inconvenienced. Get this - a youngster who's a specialist opener and has only opened all his life should suddenly come in lower order. And the more experienced player, who actually has batted in middle order should retain his spot despite being out of form.

And if Jaiswal fails while batting lower down the order, this same guy will throw him under the bus just like he calls out every other player, including our bowlers and Bumrah who have been the true heroes the past few tourneys. Despite Kohli doing absolutely nothing when it matters, it's never his fault across 9 tourneys spanning multiple formats.
