Is there a worse batting lineup than this?

This Indian team is the worst batting lineup I've ever seen, and even some minnows would be better than this lot... We open with 2 TTFs and has beens in Rohit and Kohli. Rohit's track record in T20s is there for all to see - neither a high average or SR. Then Kohli, who's not an opener partners him. England have dropped Root, and Aus have done the same with Smith but here we've turned Kohli into an opener instead of dropping him.

 

Pant, who's not a great T20 bat is at 3. His best format is Tests and has struggled with T20s. After this there's not even a pretence of a batting lineup. We have Axar at 4 - the guy who doesn't even bat at 4 in IPL and probably would bat at 11 for Eng. After that we have "National Treasure" SKY, "hitter" Dube, "all-rounder" Pandya, "finisher" Jadeja and bowlers who can't hold a bat.

 

There's not even one batsman you can rely on. We dropped likes of Jaiswal, and in-form batsmen like Abhishek, Parag and Rinku to select this travesty. And what says it all is that we don't even have one single player from the two IPL finalists. We nither have form or class in the team at the moment. Thanks Dravid, Rohit, nepo-baby Shah, and BCCi for this shyte show.

Jaiswal to open. Rinku should have been in place of Dube. Samson for SKY.

 

Rohit is the other opener, Kohli at 3. That fixes the batting line-up a bit at least for this tournament. Then need a complete overhaul after this tournament.

India scored 120 in slightly worse conditions (overcast) and the opponent scored plenty fewer in sunny conditions. Not end close to the worst. In hindsight India were 30 runs short of a par score - only Pakistan could make 120 a match winning one.

The point still remains. A brilliant Bumrah combined with even a worse team than ours (Pak) is the reason we won. But this batting lineup is shyte. A middle & lower order of Axar, Shoonya, Dube, Jadeja and our bowlers won't get you even 50 runs in the crunch. Jaiswal has to open along with Rohit with Kohli at 3. Plus we need to niggle out Jadeja, Dube or one of our spinners to get Rinku in to bat in the lower order. This batting lineup can't beat Aus, Eng, SA in Super 8s, or knockouts.

Yup, and even Venky Iyer would be an upgrade on Dube. Plus bowling consisting of Harshit Rana, Nattu, Bhuvi, Kuldeep would be better if we can add Bumrah to it. It's time we started getting domestic performers instead of selecting team on reputation alone.

His 4 overs are like gold dust. Have never seen any other bowler make such a huge difference and impact. Opponents have to take his 4 overs out and focus on scoring runs in the other 16. If batsmen support him, we would finally win a tourney.
