Hope paneer, lentils, other dairy available too.

 

But I guess 90% kids of Karnataka will be egg eaters. Vegetarianism is rare in South India, that too even many veggies aren't strict about eggs.

More than that, vegetarians don't even like to eat in same utensils/same kitchen where non veg is made. Will be interesting how parents react.

It’s a myth that only meat and eggs are sources of protein

 

Here are some vegetable sources of protein ¹ ²:
- Beans and legumes (lentils, black beans, fava beans, chickpeas, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, lima beans, soybeans)
- Nuts and seeds (peanuts, almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pecans, pistachios, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds)
- Whole grains (oats, barley, quinoa, farro, millet, sorghum, brown rice, whole wheat)
- Vegetables (peas, corn, asparagus, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, lima beans)
- Edamame (young soybeans)
- Tempeh and tofu (made of soy)
- Seitan (made of gluten from wheat flour dough)
- Nutritional yeast
- Hemp seeds and hemp hearts
- Sunflower seeds
- Pumpkin seeds

 

Also for Amino acids:

 

Here are some vegetable sources of amino acids ¹ ² ³:
- Quinoa: It is a complete protein and a good source of fiber. It also contains all nine essential amino acids.
- Soybeans: They have the highest content of essential amino acids among plant-based foods.
- Cashews: They are a good source of essential amino acids, with a serving size of 226g.

Eggs are the cheapest source, hence it makes economic sense
