Sift - 50 mtr 3 positions

Manu and Esha - 25 mtr pistol

Anish - 25 mtr pistol (outside chance)

Can we get 1 gold now pls

Manu is gold standard in 25 m. 10 m was an afterthought for her. She never even got the quota in 10 m. Issue is how will Esha perform as its a team event. Sift will be 9th or 10th. Anish similar.

Feel for our female boxers. Pathetic draws for no fault of theirs. On paper, Nikhat and Lovlina deserve bronze at least.

I guess Federation politics affects seedings but shouldn't the aim be to beat better boxers to get a gold. Hoping for better seedings and just being happy with a Bronze is loser mentality. the aim should be to go for gold regardless who you are matched up with

Wiki se copy-paste. Most of our Olympians have such inspiring stories. Shooting is generally a rich person's sport, or army background.

Kusale was born on 6 August 1995, in Kambalwadi village in Kolhapur district.[2] In 2009, his father enrolled him into Maharashtra government's Krida Prabhodini sports programme. After one year of hardcore physical training, Kusale had to choose one sport and ended up choosing shooting.[4] In 2015, he became a ticket collector for the Indian Railways in Pune which helped him buy his first rifle.[5]

I thought all our shooters earned their quota, that's what I remember reading. And isn't she in individual event in 25m?

Why was the boxing draw so cruel?? Facing world #1 in second round is pure bad luck

We have written a phd thesis on it. But in short, due to infighting our boxing association were not authorised by intl committee and results of past events were not taken into consideration while seeding. Hence Nikhat faced world no 1 and Lovelina ( being olympic medalist herself) will face world no 2. Any guesses on the nationality of the world no 1 and 2s..

You are right in theory but we aren't at the level of US, GBR, China, Cuba etc in this sport, where we have potential gold medalists. We can get a few bronzes, maybe a silver.....on paper.

The issue isn't mentality but ability.

Our boxing is a bit overrated, say in comparison to wrestling where we legit have chances to win 5 medals with good administration.

She is world record holder though. Unless she messes it up in her head, should medal.

Nikhat too has an inspiring story. Faced opposition/boycotts because of the conservative society, chose boxing gloves and shorts instead of burkah to come where she is today. How do these boxing administrators sleep peacefully at night? Shameless scum.

Has a RCA been done on this? Is it because our boxing programmes/coaching centres which should start at childhood aren't the best, do we have the best coaches in the world?, is there enough funding for boxing institutions to support targeted boxers who have the potential, are boxers identified for their divisions got the best physical attributes- height, arm length, arms size etc

2023: In September, Sift broke the world record held by Britain’s Seonaid McIntosh,[8] by a margin of 2.6 points.Samra scored a total of 469.6 points, 154.6 in kneeling, 157.9 in prone and 157.1 in standing elimination to beat Qiongyue Zhang of China

^^ her world record is simple marvellous. Men's event gold came at 466 pts in Tokyo

not team event. esha is also playing individually.

no non-mixed team events in shooting
