I'll take playing poorly and winning, over playing amazing and drawing/losing. Great teams find ways to win even when they are far from the best.

 

I was worried about this NZ fixture for a long time, glad we got the W. 

 

Argentina is a favorable matchup for us but they must have played really well today to lose just 0-1 against the monster Aussies.

GBR is a dark horse for many, played really well in recent Pro League. Crushed Spain 4-0 today. Germans crushed France 8-2, France is the most improved team plus hosts, impressive feats by those 2 teams.

 

Ireland is a team one should target for GD, Belgium beating them just 2-0 is surprising.

Over the next 15-20 years should consolidate wrestling, boxing, shooting, badminton, archery, athletics + hockey and cricket to give us 25-30 medals including 4-5 golds.

 

and hopefully in a bunch of new sports we will be at the level we are in the above sports now (table tennis, squash, tennis look the best chances cause india has achieved stuff here no matter how tiny). Swimming, cycling etc india don’t even medal at asiad/cwg.

Viren is a mainstay. He has been part of the panel for a while now - even under Sony

Pak hockey team hasn't qualified for Olympics since 2016 Rio. Didn't qualify to 2022 WC.

 

They are finished as a nation, they started their doom the day they diverted attention to jihad to destabilize their neighbors, no coming back from that.

I think there is more to that. It may be a bit of an unpopular opinion here.

Our societies have run on caste systems for very long and terminating it abruptly was never going to result in good.

Pakistanis actually killed or chased away all those people who could be good businessmen or could be good teachers or Administrators.

They are only left with people who are traditionally good at farming or fighting. Once the momentum from pre 1947 era is gone their industries, businesses, economy, education systems and a lot of institutions were bound to collapse.
