Agreed. But why do they water the field before the game? 

 

Pc rubbish of purposely clipping someone's body to get a PC is so annoying. Change that rule. Make it hard to score goals.

Play on grass fields and Indians and Pakistanis will score goals against these teams with a broken stick for fun leave alone a hockey stick.

LA 28 has Cricket I think ... With cricket you need huge infrastructure and facilities available.

 

Brisbane Olympics in 2032 can work too for cricket

yeah those western countries who are "complaining" (showing off in reality) that there is no competition should introduce it to china, russia, north korea and cuba. they will quickly get more competition

A very good comparison. A javelin weighs 800 grams. Just think how powerful your arms have to be to throw that projectile 90 metres like Neeraj Chopra does. In comparison a cricket ball weighs 160 grams and when you hit it with a heavy bat, even with newtons third law of motion many players still struggle to cross even 75 metres for a six..some like Kela cant even connect

I've seen hockey matches played on just plain "mitti wala fields" and not even on grass. All of our players have to relearn how to play hockey on astro turf. Imagine how many players & talents we would be losing out at school, college and domestic level as their skill sets may actually be ideal for astro turf but they couldn't reach the level where they couldn't even play on astro turf.

 

We're competing with one hand tied behind our backs in Hockey and we're still managing to compete. Pakistan is economically lagging behind us and it shows why they've completely disappeared from the world stage in Hockey.

 

If Astro Turf is made available to everyone at school and college level, you'll again see us become a super-power in Hockey. And if dependency on penalty corners is removed, we'll dominate the sport like we used to.

one of their problems is its always wet in europe. so from their point of view, it becomes dangerous on one side but also boring on the other. they also claim its difficult to maintain grass fields compared to astroturf. in that case, why not have variety of fields from astroturf to grass and if australia tour india, the tests will be played on grass and vice versa. this they won't accept which we should make them accept then their aukaat will be shown

what we should do is have a mixture of grass, mittiwala fields as you mentioned, and astroturf so that players are exposed to these conditions at an early stage. this will make us really powerful as australia in cricket. there are many reasons why aussie cricket is powerful, one of them is the variety of pitches they have. Waca and gabba are bouncy. melbourne and gabba assist in seam movement. scg is batting and assists spin. adelaide oval is batting oriented.

Greco Roman wrestling is 100 pc more difficult to score in than freestyle! Freestyle more watchable though. Greco Roman is brutal!

Yeah Cricket is fairly expensive to organize. But can't they make money through the broadcast rights? ICC events get good amount of TV money even by western standards. I am sure Cricket in Olympics will too.
