There's no easy way to change things. You gotta become a super-power to get that kind of influence and clout. Look at China. Earlier they used to go through what India does now but after their economic development as they became manufacturing hub of the world, things changed.

 

It took them decades to get there. There're no short cuts. Cricket is different as that's our main sport and we have influence there. Hockey is not that widely  followed in India so we don't have enough dollars and influence. So falling short of becoming as powerful as China,, no other option.
