They have amazing speed climbers. Never though Indonesia would have such good ones. They literally flew up the course.

I'm sure we can get ppl into this as well. So many ppl climb trees and stuff so quickly. With 6 medals - this can be an area where we can develop folks

Doesn't hurt at all.

Anything is a bonus for India. Our country is corrupt. Selection process is corrupt. Funding is not appropriately allocated to benefit the players.

 

Lots of issues..

 

First we need to sort that out. We have insane potential but it will take time.

Yes. I think govt needs to setup facilities in Himachal, Uttarkhand, Nepal and North-East for speed climbing and spot talent.

For years Indian cricket stagnated....There was the odd Kapil.....but rare. IPL changed Indian cricket.

 

Until we get something like the IPL for athletics, we will find it hard and slow to get past where we are. IPL largely bypasses corruption in state associations.

 

We need something to bypass the selection process that the bureaucrats have for all sports besides cricket.

 

Indian bureaucracy rivals the old dirty filthy marxist bolsheviks as far as corruption is concerned.

Aman wins bronze. Hats off to him. After the midway point, the puerto rican had no answers to Aman and he was trying to hold on by wasting time. It didnt work as Aman was relentless in the pursuit of bronze. Well done. You have made the nation proud. He is only 21 and nobody gave him the chance that he would succeed. We need access to that too. We need to Inter breed with chinks which we do in Singapore and Malaysia already. And mix some in there with Russians. Get those steroids in the body

Very surprising that we don't manage to find world class athletes from regions like Himachal and JK where armed recruitment is supposedly highest.

Maybe there is non existent sporting infrastructure in those regions.

We have to find a way to tap into the potential of these places.
