People don't become enlightened suddenly one day. It is drilled into their brains through the education system and govt machinery. Just playing ads in movie theatres is not enough effort from govts, there should be strict enforcement through police. Look at how Indians miraculously start binning the garbage as soon as they enter airports or shopping malls. Its because they know people will call out if they litter

True. But if they really wanted the campaign to resonate with the masses they should've gotten the celebrities to clean the actual dirty street. When people see that it's all hogwash and the celebrities are sweeping an already "clean" street, it comes out as tone deaf and talking down to others. It's almost as if they themselves couldn't be bothered to do the cleaning and are above doing the dirty work while expecting the "common" folks to do.

 

That's what it looked like. If you can't find any well known person to get their hands dirty then go with a different campaign. I found the whole campaign to be tone deaf and almost talking down to people.

The campaign itself was tone deaf. Have mentioned the rationale in my post above. The idea was good but execution and plan was cringe at best.

don't throw in another tangent. there are other factors that make someone jump the red. say for instance, a guy keeps honking and asking you to move because he is behind you and in a rush. you can ask him to keep calm and you will be the one at the receiving end of the abuse. You seem to have forgotten how Indians are and it has only gotten worse.

If I were a business house with a liking for sports, I would support wrestling for sure. Reasons 

 

1. Oldest sport, one of hardest sports, visually sexy sport. Medals here win you more max eyeballs, only after the 100m, 200m sprint medals.

 

2. India is very good in wrestling. Haryana/Delhi in particular. And esp. in 50-65 kg category. Parents are dedicated, athletes are dedicated. Better facilities at junior level, better coaching n better mental conditioning will give the best rupee for rupee result than in any other sport. 2-3 wrestling golds( equal to or slightly below japan, Iran, Russia) overall 5-6 wrestling medals is India's potential imho.

Bumrah is born in Gujarat, lived whole his life there, played all of their cricket there. he is not a Punjabi.  He is a Gujarati sikh. Dont confuse Sikhs and Punjabis.  There are both Sikh and Hindu Punjabis.

We are also good at heavier weight categories. We just happen to finish around 5th to 7th. Need to improve there. 

 

There is Indian origin Canadian wrestlers who are good too.

Yes, for swacch Bharat , govt can only run ads and invest in municipality services to clean . But it also involves civic duties as well. That is hard to imbibe

Also you have a repechage round so its not all is lost if you lose in first and second round provided the dude you lost to reaches final
