was around 15-20 with 2-3 medals between 2018-22 (world champiosnhips/olympics).

 

also medaled extremely well in cadets and juniors recently. so a few years down the line you will see those effects.

Sindhu, Hockey team are not medalling from the looks of it. Wrestling we had 2 last time, this time only Antim Panghal seems to have real shot.

All women boxers have tough draws.

then other long shots - lakshya, prannoy, sindhu, hockey team etc

boxing - maybe 1-2 from nikhat, lovelina, nishant, amit

shooting might have choked last two time but these two are the only ones who always medal in world championships, a bronze if necessary.

One thing people are failing to take into account is Russia's absence in these Games. Makes winning medals easier. In sports like shooting, you can always expect many medalists from Russia. Why knows we may not have made so many finals if Russians were participants.

 

Wrestling, boxing, gymnastics, diving, judo, athletics, fencing etc you would have seen many dominant Russians.

 

Let us see how the final tally is affected. I think China stands to gain the most.

I thought the Russians dominated Greco-Roman wrestling with Alex Karelin for example.... Were they good in our freestyle category?  I think you cannot use legs in Greco-Roman style wrestling for offense.

 

I don't even know if we have Greco-Roman wrestlers.
