More of a top down approach.

Nowadays Govt is spending fortunes on medal prospects. They are being coached by world's best coaches outside India for months and trained with best of the best in their field.

The coach of Manu is hired on her recommendation and she was given 2 Cr INR for training in Europe with her coach.

Not much being done at the grassroot levels sadly but I will take even this.

Then you have Aldrin(long jump), Toor(shot put), annu rani (javelin), sable outside chance.

Javelin is crowded, too many medal contenders - Vadlech, Peters, Weber, Nadeem, Yego and a couple of others. I would be pleasantly surprised if Jena wins a medal.

Relay team's best outcome would be reaching the final.

Others have no realistic chance, except Sable who keeps improving his PB all the time and is close to a podium finish.

Pretty good. Lot of imports play for aus. European and African. Not popular but aus do reasonably well. 

 

Rugby is where aus is extremely overrated. No one plays rugby 7 except Fiji lol.

A lot of countries play a lot of sport seriously- as an Indian you're just surprised because we don't see any passion or facilities for non cricket sports so never realise how good a country is in a sport which isnt common knowledge

1. Jena is World rank 7 , is in ascendancy. It is a gut feeling of mine, having neeraj by his side will be confidence booster for Jena and also takes the pressure and expectations off him.

 

2. I don't think that it's a majority decision to have Jena as better rated prospect than Sable(that's why I mentioned controversial) but I am sticking to it. 

 

3. 2 medals in track n field I feel isn't optimistic or pessimistic but a realistic estimate. I have tried to be as realistic as possible.
