That itself gave you away... no Indian will ever say "I grew up on curries". In fact there's no such thing as "curry" in any Indian cuisine... that's a generalization given by westerners for dishes which have gravy.

Sabko pata hai ki tu Pak hai... why so much shame in hiding your true identity. I know you want to be an Indian and in fact lot of Pak do so in western countries but why do so on a cricket forum :dontknow:

Are you some arbitrator of Indianess ,what i should eat ,sleep or wear should be verified by you?

Dravid being the best coach really ?

People forgetting his maneuvers to keep KL in the team or keeping Jurel on the bench while shoving club level trash like KS Bharat in the XI just so that Kela can get his keeping gloves back when need arises. Utter dishonesty on his part which is a crime.

I am okay if a coach believes in a wrong player genuinely but what was there to see in KS Bharat ?

Then how can one forget he literally costed us a fcking world cup. I know Rohit was involved but Dravid was equally responsible for the timidness we showed. Kaif and others pointed it out that how these guys asked curators to stop watering the pitch since the day they arrived in Ahmedabad.

Forget about being best coach - he's by far the wost coach, especially when it comes to assessing players ability. What he saw in KS Bharat is beyond me. Karnataka posters (some) can fkck off with their dickriding of this useless coach.

My issue with him is lack of pace bowling development. That's why I despise him.

Pace bowlers are key to winning overseas tests.

Even for world cups. Pace wins always.

He destroyed whatever progress we made under kohli Shastri and has taken us backward. Doctored spinning pitches at home like a coward.

The punts on Prasidh or Avesh did not work and we did not have enough overseas tests to try new bowlers. The odi world cup final pitch was a disaster and losing the toss did not help

Even rastrakutas would want to beat the crap out of dravid for selecting kela and bharat and patidar etc

With Pant injured, one had to try different players. It's better that we are giving one too many chances to fail than wondering " what if"

Patidar got it because he had proved himself in domestic cricket and in kohlis absence one had to expt

His love for Avesh is what gets me. I mean back likes of Harshit, Mohsin, Akash Deep etc. after you'd tried Avesh and seen what his potential is. Move on but he's stuck on him just like he was with KS Bharath when selectors basically forced his hand by pushing Jurel in the squad. And his love for KL Rahul is the same when it's proven that he does more damage to the team than good.

Can't forget his backing of SKY for Tests over Sarfaraz who was averaging close to 100 over 3 seasons! And over someone like Rinku in ODIs who has a List A average of 50 and has shown his temperament playing down the order. If I had to take a punt, would've gone for Rinku any day over SKY in ODIs. This lack of vision and eye for talent is what made Dravid such a poor coach.

Still disappointing he did nothing to develop our brilliant pace battery. Reserves I mean. He kept on playing tukka bowlers.

Thats so correct, all these years i was thinking that they call our kadhi (rajasthani besan cuisine) as curry but they call all Indian recipes curries.

I understand Patidar and even Kela. But how could he give continuous chances to KS Bharat. The most talentless player ever since I started watching cricket.

If you listened to Bhogle you would think KS Bharath was the second coming of Gilchrist. The way he went on and on about 15-20 runs he scored, it was as if he had scored a double ton! Lost whatever respect I had for Bhogle with that blatant favoritism. And he didn't have anything to say about Jurel's performance in the series.

If one listened only to his commentary one would think Jurel was KS Bharath and vice-versa

I don't understand the favoritism part of Bhogle when it comes to KS Bharat. This guy was from Andhra while Bhogle has liking for hyderabadi

And Bhogle has been trash in commentary and always crap in  talent spotting after decades of live broadcasting

Maybe @Lord is right, and we were too harsh on Dravid. Easier to talk wise as post game expert or ex-player on shows/YT, even Agarkar was sensible. Once they are given responsibility, I guess they are compromised.

Forget about everything else.

We have won 17 out last 18 games in last 2 icc tournaments in such a competitive era. And also made it to the WTC final (for those who care).

Even by conventional standards, he is our best ever coach. Literally the best ever.

Maybe it was discussed to by the BCCI that he would focus on batting, selection, communication and/or some defined roles and not on bowling.

Not saying it's exactly the case, but you shouldn't talk like you have seen entire team meetings to know everything.

Kela yes

Also he kept on playing a loser like patidar despite repeat failure in tests. Doesn't learn quickly.

Very rigid.

Slow on the uptake.

Always talks about 'match ups'

Like no one has ever heard that before.

And then calling Pakistani bowling sexy lel.

Patidar is a loser after just three tests.

KL is playing even today. He did nothing wrong in longer formats. (Btw, how do you tell who selects him).

Mathups? They have already taken precedence in popular establishments. Those who don't believe in it will fail. And Gambhir is one such guy who doesn't have much faith in data.

He is rigid? What are you really upto? Do you even watch cricket?

Don't read too much into this. Gambhir has had public tensions with Kohli in the past and has a strict headmaster image. He's just trying to mend bridges with the seniors so they can have a healthy relationship.

Nothing wrong in showing confidence in senior players at the beginning of his stint. What else was he supposed to say?

Wait for a few months to pass judgement on his coaching and selections.

Maybe you have missed the action in the past. Dozens of posters on many threads wanted Gambhir to come and drop Kohli immediately from all formats.

And hence the thread caption.

What you are saying is just obvious. But oblivious posters here were just too noisy...

Dravid will remain the greatest Indian head coach of all time.

Good luck finding someone better.

We were among the guys vocal about it early in his period.

But not sure if you actually supported him in the middle.

You look to have changed off late. You used to talk about analytics, but now you seem to support the popular narrative instead of proven facts. Bit too critical of Kohli at times as well. Just an observation.

Which popular narrative did I support ?

I've been critical of Kohli for 3 years now.

Guy called Pakistan attack sexy and the Indian attack reliable cause we have trundlers in the t20 wc. I am not so sure. He was a poor captain in general too. He liked trundlers.
