Sai Sudharshan

Recommended Posts

When I was walking on a different thread for BCCI to have officially 2 teams, likes of Sai, Ruturaj were the reason for that.

Many teams will die to have players like them in their main XI, and here they aren't even able to crack in top 20 players list.

Even a khota sikka like KL will be man of worth for many teams in the cricketing world. Except for teams like Australia, NZ & England...every other team will take him in their main XI.

It will take another 5 yrs for the TM to realise that Gill is nothing more than an overrated FTB who plays only for himself (he is a bigger stat padder than Zimbabar) and not for the team.  We would hv probably lost another 4-5 ICC tournaments by the time Gill gets replaced eventually.  (By Jaiswal/Sudarsan)     In short, Gill = Another Kela in the making.

They can't even fit in Jaiswal and you expect them to play Sai Sudarshan :giggle:

In an ideal world Jaiswal should be opening with Rohit and a shootout between Sai and Gill for the no. 3 spot. And likes of Pant, Parag and Rinku (instead of Dube) being the middle order backed up by likes of Axar & Sundar as spin-based all-rounders, or Pandya, Nitish Reddy & Venky Iyer as the seam all-rounders. Depending on conditions you either go with more spin all-rounders or more pace all-rounders. Plus you have likes of Harshit and possibly Mayank or Nattu to back up Bumrah & Shami instead of useless Siraj.

But this would require oldies and has beens like Kohli and KL Rahul to be kicked out of the team, and don't think Indian cricket will ever do that. That's the reason why we've under-achieved to such an extent at intl level, i.e. we continue to play and carry a star 4-5 years beyond his good days. We did the same with Big 4 after the 2011 WC and went 0-8 in Tests. We did the same with Yuvraj for a good 5 years from after 2011 to 2016, we did the same with Dhoni from 2017-2019, and are basically doing the same with Kohli now.

Oh no but now kohli bhakts and Rohit bhakts will come out of the woodwork to abuse you.

But but bowling did nothing. Only coolie Rohit scored lmao in a losing cause as usual.

Doesn't matter whether bowling did something or not, we can't win with 2 40 year olds in WC2027. Rohit is going through a purple patch but looking at his fitness it's unlikely to last for long. As for Kohli he's well past it as you can see his inconsistency. These days if he puts up a decent score, that's the surprise.

We're leaving out youngsters who've done well when given chances. And keeping out Jaiswal from any format is criminal. We've only 2 players who're un-droppable in white-ball cricket - Bumrah and Pandya. Rest everyone can be replaced, especially the ones closer to 40.

Nevertheless good score

I still remember that bemused look on Rory Burns face in that famous Lords test second innings when Bumrah got him out in first over.. what a match that was..
