Good test match. With limted resources they did very well just by sticking to discipline. Seems like modus operandi is drying up runs and forcing them into mistakes. Worked well for them.

Maybe they need to play another spinner to complement Jayasuriya. Pacers are crap. No point playing 3 of them for sake of it.

Pujara heck even Mayank started well in Australia. May be the Ashes thing. No other explanation. He has better technique than Steve Smith or Labuschagne who pile up mountains of runs on those flat Aussie tracks

I think the Aussies cut off Root's favorite scoring shots - the push, the nudge, the edge, the glance. Make him play proper shots like drives, pulls, cuts or god forbid hooks for runs.

He can't play bounce.  He has never scored in SA against a full Saffer attack either.

I think BD, the venues (Chennai, Kanpur) will suit them. NZ have got B'luru, Pune, Mumbai.

Reckon we will prepare good tracks against Both. 

Against England we saw shift in tactics.  Our own players are not that good vs spin.

Kuldeep would be key player again.

I think BD and NZ have always got fair pitches. 

 

RSA we gave them a couple of rank turners in 2015.

Worst reserved for Aussies. Which is a shame, on normal tracks quality of cricket will be so good and will rule out Indore, Pune type lotteries.

Yeah just saw Athers and Nas talking about it in their podcast. Young guy 20 yrs of age not much experience in FC yet picked up by selectors/tm on potential. Eng cricket has turned a corner in selection and not relying solely on county stats which can be misleading at times. Wish bcci did the same and stop picking trundlers based on FC record.
