zen
I have not taken neem oil but it is supposed to have Ayurvedic benefits. I suppose taking 3 drops of Neem Oil can’t hurt. It may either have no effect or can help in some manner. Try it out, let us know!! Edited September 4 by zen goose and Lord 1
zen
Btw, I just remembered that people use neem leaves in cooking as well. Unless I confused some other leaves with Neem’s goose
randomGuy
My parents take neem occasionally for gut health....unko kankar patthar sab hajam hai. I wouldn't take it due to potential side affects on my body in particular....others may not think the same, they may take. Infact I don't regard ayurveda much except for chyavanpraash and Amrita risht. For those that it works may use ayurveda, but I am not a fan..for that matter, I avoid allopathic tablets also... No issues as such, but be it allopathic anti-biotics, or even a simple antacid for acidity or ayurvedic bhasams or even ashwagandha, I think I get more side effects than positive effects... You could say I am a person who relies on say khichdi, curd, would do fasting, extra sleep/rest for getting well from any illness fever, gut related etc. goose

We as in people from Karnatala. We eat neem leaves mixed with jaggery. It also says : Neem oil has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that may help with liver health: Reduces oxidative stress: Neem's antioxidants help reduce free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can build up and cause oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can damage liver cells. Inhibits oxidative liver damage: Neem leaf extract's active compounds can inhibit oxidative liver damage and decrease the ALT enzyme in the blood. Reduces proinflammatory cytokines: Neem extracts can reduce the release of proinflammatory cytokines. However, neem oil can be unsafe if taken in large doses or for long periods of time. It may harm the kidneys and liver. In model studies with rat liver, neem oil was associated with the pathogenesis of Reye's syndrome. Don't drink oodles of it, is the message!!! Wifey makes various smoothies and concoctions that she claims help reduce liver fat. Will share some recipes. Mainly combination of carrot, beet, cilantro, ginger, etc. along with cumin and some Indian spices/.

To reduce fatty liver, get active and lose fat in the body. Liver will follow suite. As for neem suppliments and liver/kidney issues, i dont know. But ask your naturopath about consuming neem in leaf form and maybe go that way first. neem-baingan is a pretty tasty and simple dish to make, its basically frying kaala-jeera, neem, baingan, with some salt & turmeric in it. thats it. Goes great with rice. Is pure death with roti ( i have tried both).
