How to make a balance between good players of spin and equally good batsmen against pace and bounce in Indian cricket

I'm not sure it's even possible to have such complete batters in Tests anymore. 

 

Root himself can't play well on turners or pitches with bounce. 

 

And he doesn't play IPL, T20Is or most bilateral ODIs. 

 

What hope is there for young multi format batters who play limited overs all the time ?

Ajaz doesnt put the same revs on the ball. 

 

It's about the pace and length. 

 

Santner's pace was slower and length was much more consistent than either Ash or Jadeja.

 

All our collapses going back to Pune 2017 have been to left arm spinners who bowled in a particular speed range - O Keefe, Hartley, Kuhnemann, now Santner.

That's more our batting's problem rather than bowler doing anything special. Kiwi batsmen themselves might have played it better. SL had no problem with Santner on similar pitches.

Check the match thread. Santner turned the ball more than any of our spinners. More than 5 degree turn from a length and massive drift as well.  Pitches were not similar.
