Our odi team is not in shambles .we play almost the same team as in wc 2023..it's just that players are not in form..that tournament is curtains for Rohit and Kohli..as we won't qualify for wtc

We played on Pattas. Don't know what UAE will offer. Last time we played IPL there, Hardik Pandya, Gill, Iyer all found it tough to time. Rohit and Kohli did well in that Asia Cup, but they were much better back then.

In most likelihood, we will struggle in slow and low pitches.

In which UAE  Asia Cup did both Iyer and Kohli play?

Gill and Iyer are yet to play for India in UAE. Kohli too has never played an ODI there. Don't know what's he's on about.

i have zero hope for our ODI  team, the whole team can't play spin - NONE OF THEM   and we are playing in Dubai.

It's a good thing that there are genuinely low expectations from the team this time around. Also the hype isn't as much for this tournament as it would be for a WC (of any format).

I would have felt confident if we played at genuine sporting venue but Dubai is just too much of a toss lottery no matter what anyone says.

the pitches gonna be flat. Pant,Hardik, Iyer if he plays will be fine

Do what we did with the T20 team, i.e. replace the two non-performing seniors with youngsters and we'll be fine. It's tough to win with only 9 players.

100 100's is the end goal for Kohli as per the media hype. Unless that continues he won't retire.

Rohit though should have retired after WC 2023, but he is dragging himself for no reason. He won't be able to play WC 2027 anyway with this fitness.

Isn't Iyer a decent player of spin. He sucks against pace and bounce.

He won't get to 100 100s even if he plays till he's 70. He's done. Maybe invite Zim and B'desh and serve up absolute pattas. Other than that, nope he isn't getting to 100 100s.

Depends a lot on the pitches. We have a number of successful ODI batters on flat pitches: KL, Gill, Iyer, Samson, Sudharshan, Pant, etc. putting aside RoKo. Issue will be ARs and especially bowling.
