Champions Trophy 2025 could be the worst humiliation for India and BCCI.

Champions Trophy is just around the corner and the Indian ODI side is in complete shambles, we lost an ODI series to SriLanka who hasn't even qualified for the main event. I know that Lanka is in resurgence phase but our batting looked inept. The problem is that Rohit Sharma was our best batsman while the young guns and Kohli failed terribly.

I think CT 2025 is going to be very important for us as losing to Pakistan or getting knocked out of group stage could end is serious humiliation. I can only imagine how difficult twitter is going to become if we somehow shell our game vs Pakistan, which tbh is looking quite probable.

If there is one tournament I want our team to win, it is this one. Even more so than WTC 2025, a win here will definitely heal all the wounds we got in CT 2017 and will ensure bragging rights for the next two years at least. The worrying part is that Pakistan team is actually looking settled and have recently won two series in SA and Aus, for the first time in years their batting looks more solid than ours with the resurgence of a young Saim and the presence of the clutch Fakhar Zaman. Pakistan has also accepted that Babar will be their slow accumulator playing knocks at a str rate of 80-85 and others will have to work around this, this can work for them as their openers are going to be aggressive.

The Indian team will be under immense pressure as India is in a group with Nz and Pak, Nz is officially our bogey team and have had the wood over us in ICC tourneys. We can only relax in the game vs Bangladesh which is mostly one sided. I don't have much hopes of winning this trophy but I want our team to qualify for the semi final in Dubai. If that doesn't happen then the whole scheduling fiasco would have no meaning and we will be subjected to the worst humiliation ever, this CT can end careers.

We will definitely lose. Not sure if we should consider it as ‘humiliation’. I think we shouldn’t take this tournament seriously. Just lurk around and boycott as soon as we lose and don’t get into addressing any banters, you will get a lot from Padosis as they will treat it as the most important tournament of all time but we are not ready for any ICC tournament anyways. It is one to skip.

Our odi team is not in shambles .we play almost the same team as in wc 2023..it's just that players are not in form..that tournament is curtains for Rohit and Kohli..as we won't qualify for wtc

Biggest issue is this team is very average outside India and has been so since 2020.

This is especially true of Iyer and Kohli.

The only 2 away series wins of note were ENG in 2022 and SA in 2023/24 .

Pant and Sanju/Sai were the best batters on both tours.

Pakistan isn't.

Each time I see pakistan play, I see faces which I have never seen before. They built a team near some core players like Babar, Rizwan, Afridi, etc but their team too is rebuilding (still). It was never stable after the prime pakistan era

Indian LOI team is better than Pakistan anyday. This bilateral series win means zilch. But nobody cares about this format and tournament. Hosting it in Pakistan and Dubai would made it more boring. Hopefully last tournament for 2 seniors.

Imagine the sheer ownage if we beat Pakistan in Dubai (in a tournament hosted by them) , possibly knocking them out , qualifying for the finals thereby taking the final out of Lahore and then go on to winning it..

Pawkis will probably stop watching cricket altogether. :phehe:

I would love this, it would be our revenge dor Ct 17, how glorious would it be if we win a tournament hosted by Pakistan after so much controversy.
