What's up with braindead selection

What is going on with the captain and team management with these braindead selection calls

 

Who plays¹ with only 4 pure bat , gill has looked good and if they wanted to drop him pick sarfaraz or paddikal or anyone they want

 

2 spinners in australia with one being a part timer after forcing Ashwin to retire

 

It's quite evident this attack lacks pace and needs injection of harshit or prasidh

 

This military medium bowling of akashdeep and siraj won't do anything 

 

Then we have 2 passengers in Rohit and kohli

 

 

This is a 20-20 team for test cricket

 

Gambhir has gone mad , Rohit has always been a loser in test cricket

I was livid with the shot Gill played but this is a horrible selection really. Dropping a porper bat for an all rounder shows you have no conviction in your selection.

the allrounder has batted better than so called 'proper' bat. Tags dont mean much.

The AR's will bat at 6-8 with Rohit at 3 or opening. We are losing top 3 quickly anyway.

Many selections hv been braindead.  But dropping Gill was the right choice.  He would hv made 15-20 at max,no matter how good the pitch is.   I hv more expection from no.5,6 7 batters than Gill.

If they don't trust Gill at 3, they could have gone with someone like Easwaran or Jurel at 3 with a role given that they consume a lot of balls. Very difficult to win in places like Australia without proper batsmen contributing.

Again they are just tags. Sundar and Reddy are batting as well as anybody. Bowling is just bonus. 

 

Sundar can easily be batted even at 3 with his defensive technique. Won't be any worse than Gill.

Gill overseas is a dud. Good decision. Runs at the end is valuable than a quick and attractive 15 runs at #3

Captain Rohit wants to bat at 3 or 2. He is paving the way for this. 

 

It's as simple as that.

 

It is another matter that Washington is a good fighting batter at 6 to 8 and averages 48 as a batsman in tests. So he is ideal if Rohit moves up.

What is the point of investing in a 36 averaging batsman who can't be trusted in overseas tests and is out-batted by the likes of Shreyas and Sarfraz at home.

Not tags. You need specialists for top 6. Can't expect ARs to do well every game. 

And where will we stop, next game Jaiswal fails we will throw him out too saying even Tanush Kotian can make these many runs. So let's play him.
