Agarkar has to be the most idiotic selector Indian cricket has seen in  decades. Seriously, where is Karun Nair? And how on earth did the BCCI's nepo kid, Shubman Gill, end up as vice-captain? He doesn't even deserve a spot on the team! This is beyond absurd and utterly ridiculous. It's blatantly obvious that this selection committee is just a puppet for BCCI  lobbyists. Pathetic. After New Zealand and Australia series this selections are just baffling and spitting on the face of an average Indian cricket fan. Time to stop watching Indian cricket team.

its just one tourney where everyone is scoring though. He's 33 his chance is gone.

There is not a single batsman other than Pandya whom you can trust that they will get you through a big game from critical situations. 

If its going well they will all do well, else they will all fail collectively. 

Bowling though with Bumrah, Kuldeep, Shami looks good.

He gave an interview the other day saying how much he is enjoying domestic cricket, that he is in a good mental space and not thinking about being selected for India team.

 

So, selectors thought - Rohit, Kohli, Rahul - they all have a true desire and passion to play for India. Even when they are playing badly, they have the "want hunger and desire." Nair is happy in domestics and is not passionate about Team India. Jazbaa wins.

Kela made a 2 ball duck vs SL In SL in his last ODI. He gets picked

Not really. Look at Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan. It's about playing for the right IPL franchise - MI, RCB or CSK.

Yes even getting into domestic sides needs backing from IPL teams.

 

Smaller market teams find it hard to get their players regular chances in Ind t20i set-up, Only rr has been smart to invest in high potential young player who can make it to Ind side in 2-3 yrs. Jaiswal, Parag has been good bet for them. Still Jaiswal can not get into ODI side.

India lacks impartial analysts with sharp brain. It is a rare combination. When Agarkar was in the commentary box he sounded sane. His points were well made. But moment he became selectors he became just another  run of the mill selector who is dancing to the tune of higher forces. Then we have guys like this who don't know what they are talking about lol
