I have no problem with my parents. I am not here to judge them, neither you have any right. To me, they were best parents I could have got. But points I made above, Dont think you denied on personal front. Hence I am absolutely certain that you yourself is in same Social trap. But seems like you dont practice what you preach. Atleast I practice or make conscious attempt to practice Social Changes take time. Edited February 26, 2025 by mishra

Man thinks drinking water from lower castes is progressive. It may be progressive in your time in 1998. This is 2025 I am just tired arguing with @coffee_rules who talks non-sense and goes off on weird tangents. So @coffee_rules goes off on X tangent. @Muloghonto goes off on Y tangent. @mishra goes off on Z tangent. So I am supposed to dispute all the three tangents, back up my arguments and dispute the agenda spouted by brainwashed RW. Tiring job. have you been to a house of someone like Mushhar Community or likes of that? Now a days , Government has built it for them. Forget sharing time, You wont even visit their locality which is generally outside of the village. Thats another direct question. Answer Yes or No Edited February 26, 2025 by mishra

Duh!! No idea why you are so insecure with words like 'dhumeel' and 'missionary' to throw dirt on others when i have already stated that I am a Hindu. If that’s the case why did your brothers and uncles cut poonal and kudumi of Brahmins? Because they wouldn’t fight back. If they did to other non-Brahmin UCs, they would meet their creator. That’s how much brave they were. Fcuking cowards. Edited February 26, 2025 by coffee_rules

If you are doing something good to the 'Musahar' community, good for you. But if you feel proud of yourself for visiting their house and drinking water from them, then this is the not the time (2025) or place for that. "You wont even visit their locality which is generally outside of the village. " Once again Tired of your projection man. Google it. You will get anwer on Dickipaedia. Person who berates and lectures on civic sense and living comfortable life between Chennai and Banglore has zero idea about India. You are like that IIT Baba who claim to be expert on Hinduism because he went to IIT.

I deserve no respect for what my father or grandfather did. So if there is a Pujari today that you want to respect because s/he protects your religion, that is a reasonable thought. But that doesn't extend to all Brahmins of birth simply because they wear a Janivaara and pray twice a day while also working a regular job. Even Pujaris are doing it as a profession, not out of self-interest to promote Hinduism. So, the comment was never about modern times. Nobody is cheast-beating in this time and era. Brahmins are supposed to be bhikshus while being a bramhachari - this was the case even in thr 1950s when poor brahmin kids would eat one-day in each richman's house per day of a week. Who does that now? They are supposed to sleep on ground/mat and do only Veda-dhyan. Is it practical do it now? The least all could do is to celebrate festivals, go to temples, congregate, satsang etc to further the interests of Hindus.

That can apply to Doctors, Teachers or any “noble” profession. Everyone has to live. However here is what I have experienced recently, in the last 2 family functions we had, there were a group of Pujaris/ priests some of them fairly young. They were really into it, they didn’t make the rituals or mantras boring, they tried to explain its significance etc and made it a very lively event and made it interesting even for kids/ elders all alike. That itself is promoting culture/ Hinduism in my book. I really appreciate their parents for passing on their culture and the youngsters themselves being really being true professional about it. You can’t apply 300 bc sensibilities of bhiksha etc in 2025. That has been the selling point of Hinduism as well, retaining its antiquity of spiritual traditions while adopting to modern society as much as possible. Edited February 26, 2025 by maniac diga 1

I was only responding to his point about only one community gets the credit and rest all doing their profession and dabbling with religion on the side, we should all do whatever we do with perfection and dedication . Everyone plays a part. It’s endearing to see young pujaris dedicated to their profession knowing the real meaning of mantras. The fact that you are noticing it and appreciate itself adds to the cause of promotion. maniac 1

The ships carrying indentured laborers from India to plantation countries in the Carribbean, Mauritius, South Africa, Fiji etc used to occassionally carry a Brahmin priest or two, who would be called "Maharaj" by the rest of the Indian crowds on the ship. maniac 1

Not sure about priests, usually in big joint families or rich households in North India , they employ cooks who are called Maharaj as a nickname . I don’t know the cultural significance, could be because of NaLa Maharaj, a king of Ramayana times was famous for his culinary skills. It may be these ships would take cooks with them and they were called Maharaj. Edited March 16, 2025 by coffee_rules

Brahmana Bhojanam daily carrier service is quite popular in certain parts of the city. It is possible the cooks on the ship were Brahmins, as food cooked by them would be palatable to all castes of people. coffee_rules 1
