Aus is building up nicely for WC 2027.

Green, Head, Inglis, Carrey are all gun ODI players.

Marsh can also stick until 2027 although he is few failures away from being discarded since he doesn't bowl anymore.
Labu should be axed though. Aus need to find another solid anchor type batsman.

p.s 47 ball 100 by GREEN. :hatsoff:

RSA conditions will suit them most as well, they probably have a better record in RSA than at home. Even in the last U-19 WC, check how their tall pacers bullied our batsmen in the final. Clean victories in 2003 WC, 2009 CT in the past.....and in 2007 WT20 we had to play our best ever game (and Yuvi, Dhoni their best ever T20 knocks) to eliminate them in SF on the most SC like pitch in that country.

RSA hasn't toured us for 6 years.

It will be 6 years before our next tour to NZ.

8 years between our tours to SL.

WI touring here after 7 years.

No test against Ireland, Zimbabwe, Scotland. Heck, just 1 test against Afghans, almost 8 years back.

We just play Eng and Aus all the time. Also not easy on the players, disproportionately high number of matches against top sides, they should get some easy assignments as well to statpad, gain confidence when they hit a rough patch (Pujara, Kohli, Rahane could have benefited 3-4 years back). Also our boys don't get to feast on Pook minnows, no wonder individual stats and numbers of these goras look so much better.

Tough on our debutantes/rookies as well. Ek toh our seniors don't let go of their position. Plus they can't ease their way in via easier assignments. Reddy, Sundar, Thakur, Rana making their debuts against red hot Aus in Aus....and Ind fans are so harsh when they don't  look like finished products from the word go. Even Kamboj would have done better had he debuted against an easier side and gained some experience before Eng tour.....he was fed to the Bazballers on the flattest pitch of the series, even Bumrah didn't find it easy there and this was his 3rd tour to England.

Indian cricket success is despite BCCI.

Our players not getting any easy series

Posted

Good white ball series, only once a target got chased where maxwell played a maxwell innings.

Unusual in the sense that now a days chasing sides have some advantages, but these seems to be proper sized grounds.

Aus is trying to build a strong heavy hitting white-ball side,  marnus look like not fitting into the team, David is playing CPL and maxwell is not playing this Odi series may be they will also return back.

Indian cricket success is despite BCCI.

Considering how much the big 3 play against each other, most of their debuts will be against each other.

Gill (away), Siraj (away), Reddy (away), Sundar (away), Rana (away), Rahul (away), Kuldeep - vs Aus

Sai (away), Jurel, Akash, Karun, Pant (away), Kamboj, Jadeja - vs Eng

14/18 test players in the recent squad debuted vs Aus/Eng

The rest 4 are:

Bumrah (away), Prasidh  (away) - SA

Jaiswal (away), Shardul (Although hardly played) - WI

Because Ind have to play 5 teams apart from Eng/Aus and only 4 can come in, someone will always miss a cycle and it then becomes 6 years. Eng/Aus play 6 (including Pak) so 2 miss out.

Durban was one of the fastest and bounciest pitch in those days. It wasn't SC like pitch. It became SC like pitch only in 2010s. Though that particular pitch was a good batting pitch but still had bounce.

Durban was pacy/bouncy in 90s sure. But by 2000s its nature had changed. In fact Pakistan won a test there in 1998 (Mushtaq Ahmed MOTM with a 9 wickets haul), we in 2010 (Harbhajan 6 wickets in the match), Lanka in 2011 (Herath MOTM, 9 wickets).

In 2007 SF, Harbhajan got lot of help.

India got shot out for 100 & 66 in the 1997 test match against SA.. that was quite a pacy pitch
