Do not think bcci is behind all this it mostly table top stories from some social media channels, player's pr companies and IPL franchises pr companies.

To create waves/support fr their players.

 

Similar tactics are used by player who are looking to change franchises or looking for better IPL contracts. Its nothing new now.

Let Jaisu focus on tests for the moment. Anyway even if picked in the squad he wouldn't have been in first XI of our WC team next year. Our T20 team is anyway in autopilot mode, just hope Rohit makes way for Jaiswal from ODIs asap, can't carry an obese 40 year old to next WC.

GG says he wants to end the superstar culture in Indian cricket. To me, it seems he just wants to have a superstar he can control, this VC move to Gill is exactly that, a shameless power grab rubber stamped by GG. BCCI won't mind because they make more money using superstars, when have they ever cared about on-field dominance? 

 

Kohli, Rohit, Ashwin threatened GG's fragile ego. Shreyas, Pant, Jaiswal, Bumrah probably too bold/independent. Gill is young and impressionable. GG is here for long term benefits, neeyat hi kaharab hai is bande ka.

Jaiswal 36 average, 160+ SR. Travis Head like numbers, in fact better.

 

Iyer most improved player last one year, clutch, leadership qualities, always an asset in SC conditions, against spin etc. But can't even find a place in the reserve list?

This was said in July 2023 for 2024 T20 WC. Back then our T20 openers were Rohit, Gill, Rahul and Kishan and except Gill the others were struggling. SKY was literally carrying the team. 

 

Jaiswal was IPL emerging player in 2023 edition with eye popping SR for an Indian T20 opener before Abhishek bettered him in the 2024 edition (Jaiswal had an above average season then and was not the standout Indian opener in last season as well)

 

Ultimately none of Gill, Kishan or Rahul played the T20 WC and Virat Kohli became the opener
