T20 he is a misfit because of the keeper problem.

Abhishek will play as an opener, as he can provide quick starts and can bowl as well. For second opener we simply have no option but to play Samson who can play as keeper.

 

Think about it, Pant & Jurel down fit in T20, Ishan Kishan is out of contention. Only keeper which can bat down the order is Jitesh and he is not beeing considered here. Again, an artificially created problem where Samson get an edge.

 

I doubt even Gill will find a play in the XI. Tilak, Riyan will be ahead of him courtesy of their multi skills.

You are talking about an ideal situation,what should be done

But it's certain they are going to make wholesome changes in the T20 side and make it unbearable yet again reminiscent of 20/21-22 side

I am of the opinion to let Jaiswal focus on Tests and ODIs where he is most needed looking ahead.  Let's not ruin him as well in T20 tamasha.

 

We have so many options for T20s and it doesn't matter if Samson and Abhishek keep opening and Gill bats at 3 coz he is looking like a future all three format captain to BCCI.

 

Very soon even Suryavanshi could be knocking doors in T20 format if has another great IPL

 

The format we should be more concerned about is Tests and ODIs.

Spot on. Absolutely no need to have every player in all formats. There are plenty of T20 options  for India but Jaiswal gives India a unique edge versus other teams in the longer formats.

Exactly Abhishek offer more upside as of now in the format.  I reckon among the two he is a better pace hitter and a genuine PP dasher who even on his worst days can get 15-20 runs in a jiffy before going out.

And he can bowl is an added advantage.

The news is that Gill is likely to be vice captain both in ODIs and t20s, so is likely to be in the XI too. He is clearly Gambhir's favorite and they are grooming him for all format captaincy.

They'll start with Sanju as opener. And Jitesh will be the back up keeper or might make the playing 11 at 7 or 8.

Shreyas might be in consideration to make the squad after two back to back IPL final. Not bad to have stability at 4/5 after an explosive top 3. But that would mean no spot for Rinku.
