How do you think BCCI is supposed to accomplish that task of isolating Pakistan from international cricket.

  1. Incentivize boards to skip pakistan Bi lateral tours. Offer them sweet deals in sponsorship and extra india tours.
  2. offer participation of Indian players in their 20-20 leagues if they block pakistani players

These are things I can think of top of my head.  Lord Rajeev Shukla ji (PBUH)  is an expert, my idol, in politics. He will have even better ideas.

Why not? boycott the game not the tournament,

Even the knockouts if Pak reaches there..

How about olympics or David cup lawn tennis match b/w India and Pak.. dont know if Pak plays it lol..or may be squash..in any multinational competitions

or world badminton/table tennis championships..

kabbaddi.. bollyball world cups…

Why not? It DOES determine where indian players play and don't play. It has been doing for decades.

It determines where Indian players play not other teams or their players.

So how does controlling Indian players translate to isolation of Pakistan in international cricket.

Why unpopular ? It's common sense. Boycott means Boycott. India didn't have to play with Pak at any sports event except World Cups. This whole farce was orchestrated by Jay Shah and co. With the full backing of the govt :wall: look at PM Modi's tweet last night.

In the hindsight, you are right. Complete ban is not possible. But BCCI can block Pakistani from as many international assignments as possible

It doesn’t make any sense in boycotting tournaments. You are going to hurt yourself more than you are hurting Pakistan.

One thing they need to do is to stop this group fixing where India is in the same group as Pakistan.

If they happen to meet them in knockout matches so be it and beat them there.

How does it hurt us?

Pakistan is going to part of every multinational tournament so boycotting tournaments where Pakistan is playing means you are left with only bilaterals and IPL.

It might be customary but it definitely isn’t obligation. There is nothing moral or legal about having to shake hands with someone who supports the killing of your fellow citizens.

you either shake hands with ppl who want you killed or drop the cup isn’t logically sound position.

This isn’t uncommon either, the western world which will give you lectures on spirit of the game does the same. This argument that India should either be cucks by shaking hands with terrorists or lose opportunities to win international trophies is a false dilemma.

We are standing side by side on their national anthem, that is way more cuck than not shaking hands.

My point is there are so many inconsistencies in these kind of stances. I am not a fan of playing with them, we gain absolutely nothing by playing them but if we have to, just be professionals and be done with it. Not shaking hands etc will bring nothing to our favour.

I think historically most boycotts have an element of inconsistency to them.

Take the European boycott of Russia, they sanction Russia yet they buy Russia oil and natural gas because they benefit  from it. The Americans sanction India for buying Russian oil while they buy Russian uranium & rare earth.

The Pakistanis seem to absolutely hate the fact that Indians are refusing to shake their hands. Indians are refusing to get the trophy from their hands.

I see it more of how power works, the more powerful decide how to treat you based on what works for them. If you want better treatment you need to give into to them. The world never works based on ideal application of principles but on principles that work for the powerful.

One more thing we can do.

Anyone who coached Pakistan or remain affiliated with Pak cricket, will not be given any contract with Indian cricket.

I know likes of Morne, Hesson who dont understand the gravity of the relations between the two teams yet. But probably, after this incident and if BCCI takes the above action will put some amount of seriousness.

the whole messaging from India is wrong in my view. ruthlessly go after anyone and everyone connected to the Pak army and ISI terror apparatus while saying we have nothing against Pakistanis. the only country doing the hyphenating is India!

Yup. This messaging & ability to articulate our actions is sorely missing.

SKY has 0 ability to communicate the nuances of why the team is boycotting Pakistan in terms of niceties. Rather goes & makes it worse by claiming no rivalry because we are much better team which doesn’t matter much in this format.

you could even say we have nothing against pakistan players but we aint shaking hands while a govt official is running the PCB. divide and conquer. turn pakistani attention to their own inept and rulers.

There is no point trying to make this non existent distinctionand uttering useless platitudes like this, not unless you're living under a rock.
