If he somehow manages to get into 15 then it is a pain to sit him out. Calling Pants t20 record average is also being generous however one failure by anyone in playing XI puts so much pressure on team to play Pant. Only thing in his favour is the intimidation factor. Despite his t20 record, I do not think any team wants to see Pant walking out to bat at fall of a wicket, specially if its Abhishek Sharma.

bsriharsha Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Think they will get the squad mostly right. Maybe a couple of contentious choices. The problem is picking the playing XI. Jaiswal needs to get picked over Gill and we need to sort out the wicketkeeper situation. Plenty of choices , but no one to substantially make a huge case. The bowling stocks are what they are. Hopefully someone picks up their game and gets themselves into contention more.

tapandrun Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 (edited) Should vaibhav be in Ind wc 2026 t20i side. Yes sample is small. But he is a capable 6 hitter of both pace and Spin, his game is all about 6-hitting and his 6s go fair distance. Can hit both full and short-ball and is ultra aggressive even if he plays 20 balls he can get 40 runs. Can be used as an Opener or finisher. Yes WC is big stage but thats what you play for. Does not have fully developed off- side game but he can hit ball powerfully and does not seem to have obvious weakness in t20 game. Yes top level bowlers like Hazelwood/Archer/ Boult in their good spell get can him but who wound they not trouble in a good spell . The only bad match up in t20 for him is like when team is 3 down with not much and tm would not want some1 like him at that as his entry point Edited November 15, 2025 by tapandrun
