Gollum Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 LINK How do Gambhir/Agarkar fans explain this? Sarfu has been the best domestic performer in India for a long time now, how has he gone so much out of favor that he can't even crack the Ind-A squad? In his last series for India, he was the only Indian batsman to score a 100 in a low scoring series. Even weight is not an issue anymore. GG talks about fairness, deshbhakti, wants to defend youngsters like Rana from trolls? Why treat some players like pariahs then? In which universe are Paddikal, Gaikwad and Patidar better prospects than him? cricspirit and Ultimate_Game 1 1

Gollum Posted October 21, 2025 Author Posted October 21, 2025 This is bigger injustice than keeping Jaiswal out of white ball cricket. Even leaving aside his batting, his energy was so refreshing. Taking body blows in FSL/SP, always chirping around the batsmen, giving good inputs in DRS. That story about him revealing dressing room secrets in Aus looks like a hit job. Apparently he randomly met some journo in a kebab stall in Aus and told him about his disappointment on not making the XI, and the lack of transparency in selection. If deshbhak GG's fragile ego is hurt because of this, he isn't mature enough to coach a side like India. cricspirit, Manucrick and Ultimate_Game 1 2
tweaker Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Gambhir and Agarkar has made mockery of selection Selecting players with no experience or very average domestic perfomance. Selecting players for test based on IPL perfomances. Non selection of players having high perfomance in domestic and A teams . Selecting players based on their perceived allround abilities and sidelining players for their main skills. Gambhir and Agarkar has completely destroyed the careers of Sarfaraz, Eashwaran, Shami, etc Lord and Ultimate_Game 2

Gollum Posted October 21, 2025 Author Posted October 21, 2025 Corruption, petty politics, and nepotism in India won't ever go away. That is why we will always underachieve, meritocracy is an alien concept in India. We have all the resources to achieve (or even surpass) GOAT WI/Aus level dominance, but we won't. Lone Wolf Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 (edited) Unfortunate if they want to discard him give him those A games at least. DDP isn't an upgrade on Sarfaraz even if he is a left hander. Edited October 21, 2025 by Lone Wolf Manucrick, express bowling, Gollum and 2 others 1 4

Corruption is subjective but our selectors genuinely lack IQ.. looking at the way squad is selected. These Dehati mfers selected 2 Pacers for 1st 4 day game and 5 Pacers for second 4 day game. This is the story of India in General... We deliberately waste our resources sometimes I think Ultimate_Game, Gollum, express bowling and 2 others 1 4

AKane Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 (edited) Sarfraz needs to focus on IPL. The Indian team is Gambhir's team now and people need to accept that fact. Who is going to go against Gambhir? All the people here on this message board or social media? Gambhir could care less. Edited October 21, 2025 by AKane
cowboysfan Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 proper injustice for Sarfaraz.his best bet is to force his way into the ICT is scoring big in Ranjis this season.

putrevus Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Is Sarfraz fit. If answer is yes then these two idiots Gambhir and Agarkar have to go. They don't deserve to have their job. Gambhir is the same idiot who did not play Sarfraz but played guys like DDP and Jurel when fit Sarfraz was in Australia. Gambhir is bad news for Indian cricket. Dravid made mistakes, Shastri made mistakes but they never were vindictive like these two morons. There can always be debate about selections, what these two bozos have done to Shami and Sarfraz should not be tolerated. Manucrick and Lord 1 1

Gambhir's selections are based on strong likes and dislikes towards individuals. This is being shown up with Sarfaraz but has also previously to come on the surface with other players he instinctively dislikes - Pant being a clear example who he was singling out for the manner of his dismissal in Australia while glossing over the complete failure of the alleged top order. He has a clear case of small-man syndrome. A cricketer who himself was a bang average test opener who scored most of his runs in India himself is now apparently dumping sarfaraz for home turf dominance. Comparing him to Pant is even more interesting. Pant's stats as a all condition batsman are far better than anything Gambhir ever achieved in his career yet average journeymen like him and Agarkar are now making critical calls without any coaching or selection credentials before they were put in their current jobs. That is the downside of giving power to useless idiots like Gambhir and Agarkar. They are so insecure about themselves they start doing things to show up great players. These two have become vindictive. Dravid or Shastri never had insececurity like these morons. MSK Prassad was another moron who got more limelight as a selector than when he was a player. It clearly showed in his thinking process. He had no clue . I understand coaching and selectors are thankless jobs. Players sitting outside always are better than ones selected for most people. You can always find faults with coahing moves. But in cases of Sarfraz and Shami even blind man can say they are being isolated for things not related to their performance on the field. Edited October 21, 2025 by putrevus
Nikhil_cric Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Don't think there's anything against Sarfaraz. From what I understand, not many in the system think he has the ability/ceiling to handle international bowlers on tough wickets. Seen as a domestic/flat track bully New guy and Manucrick 2

That sounds like the decision making process of a boys club not a professional setup. "Not many in the system think xyz" is fine but impressions have to be validated by performance. Sarfaraz has performed every time he has been given a chance and is hungry. If he is tried and shown up by his performance fair enough but he is the dominant first class performer of the last few years and the test team has places opening up. Completely dumping a promising and hard working player purely based on "vibes" is a very poor way to run the pathway to the national team. Edited October 21, 2025 by lemsip

Completely dumping a promising and hard working player purely based on "vibes" is a very poor way to run the pathway to the national team. It's his Ranji team's fault. They should bat him in the Top 4. Most guys who end up as pure batsmen for India usually do the bulk of their Ranji scoring in the Top 4. It's not a purely vibes based call. There would've been some assessment based on his reaction time against high pace etc. Regardless, my point was there is no sinister agenda against him
