Well , in theory it was because of Ranas "batting" and to be fair he hung around after a middle order collapse although yes farmed too much strike and took too many balls up

 

But yeah Arshdeep in for Dube or Rana would have made some difference

He should've played in place of Kuldeep. Varun C is our no. 1 spinner and Axar as the spin all-rounder. Kuldeep should only play when it's a spin friendly pitch. Else Arshdeep or someone like Parag should take that spot.

He is becoming more and more frustrating. Bowled an amazing spell against zimbabwe. Now he bowled 2 good overs. Bowled decent ball in 3rd over. Then whatever happened he suddenly bowled half way down with full effort  conceded 5 wides. Then he did it again slapped for six.. then bowled on the pads full whacked for six. Why is this guy suddenly going off the script when batsmen don't even try to do anything?

Couldn't understand that bouncer and short-pitched stuff in his 3rd over! We had pushed WI on the back-foot and the cutters and off-pace deliveries were the way to go. But he bowled a full-pace bouncer for 5 wides and followed it up by another hald-tracker and that too against WI batters! Those deliveries were the ones which opened the floodgates for WI when we had them contained. That over made the difference between 170 and 190 odd.

 

All he had to do was to keep i simple and bowl either off-pace cutters or yorkers. But he bowled full-pace deliveries (at mid 130s) in the batters' arc and got hammered. No brains used at all. After our fielders, that Arshdeep over was the reason we conceded so many to WI when we should've been chasing a total in 170s.

Yea.. Given how WI were progressing they shouldn't have crossed 175. That over really released the pressure. His variations are his worst enemy.

Also if the ump had given that LBW decision in Varun's favor, they could've struggled to get to 160. Wish we get some "benefit of doubt" in the knockouts

Generally West Indians just whine. Today they give credit to Arshdeep's 19th over and Samson  a lot. This is what frustrating. He can be very good. Then something comes to his mind bowls these random deliveries

When Arshdeep keeps it simple, i.e. bowl yorkers he's pretty good but when he tries to experiment he struggles. Gambhir should tell him to focus on nailing yorkers and bowl occasional off-pace cutters. He shouldn't try anything else.

Iska dimag kharab hai. He invariably spoils 1 over in his spell by his stupid planning and goes for plenty. Have seen this many times. His 3rd over is costly in many matches then bowls a good 4th over

He is still better than the other choices. 2024 wc final 19th over changed the game

I will back him.

On his bad days he will go for plenty, no doubt but he is also a wicket taker.

He's our best pacer after Bumrah. Folks are calling him out for experimenting and getting hammered when he's pretty good when he keeps it simple. That bouncer and short-pitched tactic in his 3rd over nearly cost us the game when we had put WI on the back-foot. That 24 run over due to the brainless tactic gave momentum back to the WI.

yea.  Hope he has to stop exepriment.   4 overs 43.. Of that 3 balls 22 runs !!!   so basically 3.3 overs 21 runs. Excellent spell otherwise. He has to be wary of that 3 balls.
