In white ball cricket, Gill is a poor man's Babar Azam

Best he can do is reach Babar Azam's level, who at least has some crazy numbers/stats/records.

Impactless, soft runs, selfish statpadding, putting self above team.

In fact far inferior to Azam in SENA conditions. Also at least Babar had a few notable performances in 2019 WC, including a top 100 against NZ in a seaming deck, that was a must win match for Pak.

Gill is a failure in KOs in all formats, including ACC events. He scored an 80 in the 23 SF but that was overshadowed by 3 other knocks that night.

Just like Babar, zabardasti ka superstar, and all format captain. At least Pak talent pool is dry, here Gill is blocking a dozen candidates, some of whom can easly surpass him if given opportunites.

This dude needs to up his game in ODIs first just like he did in Tests.

Washi's performance today has left us with no doubt that he is the worst player in all our T20 squads.

Everybody else, including Dube, has given meaningful, even clutch, performances in this format. .

Gill is the glaring and only exception.

He can do whatever he likes to achieve his personal goal but he needs to be dropped from t20s he was never a T20 player

He lacks power, ability to change gears or play aerial shots when required

He's extremely limited, this pampering of his is laughable,he's not remotely close or worthy to get appeased

This is v.apt comparison, gill is alot like Babar. even his success in IPL is similar to babar in intnl.

Both play with simlar kind of opening partners Sai and rizwan.

A side like Aus or Eng today would have chucked him out of LOI XIs or atleast never ever have considered him for t20s

Aus has never been a team about individual, you have to play to win ,play for the team.

Eng is going in same direction in recent time, no matter what your game is you need to play for team, right now they are not winning but can see the thought process.

He's not a T20 player.

Not his fault he keeps getting picked. The selectors should have the balls to not select him.

Comparing him with Babar Azam is the ultimate insult.

If this was in PeePee forum post , Gill would have gotten offended at that and made sure to up his game scoring at a SR of 180 and an average of 50 for the rest of his career in t20s internationals

Nothing wrong with today's knock on a super sluggish pitch with variable bounce. Hitting was almost impossible. In the end, proved to be a very useful knock to hold one end up.

Hitting was easiest during the early part, as shown by Abhishek's 21 ball 28, Dube's 18 ball 22 and SkYs 10 ball 20.

Gill wasted a lot of those early times. On such pitches you have to make use of the early new ball and hit then as hitting becomes difficult later.

Looks like Gill will play 2026 World T20 , no matter what.

He will surely but not undisputed, there is pressure on Gill,Agarkar and Gambhir this time

His T20 exploits are non existent, fans don't like him in the xi

He may get dropped mid way if he does poorly ,but he will surely get easy opposition to score useless 40 ball 50 or 65 ball 80 on an ultra flat deck to give Agarkar and Gambhir some excuse platform

46(39) while opening in 2025 T20 cricket.

Rahane's 40(35) in 2016 was better than this ****.

Sanju, Jaiswal have been robbed...and everyone else is playing out of position, team balance *ed up.

We're so phucked! And the thing is if we replace him with Jaiswal we're clear favorites to win the WT20 at home. Gill is evening the odds for other teams :((

Historically, we have always been our worst enemies, not talking just about cricket.

We did the same in WC 2023 by not playing Ashwin in the final instead of Siraj and picking up a useless SKY ahead of likes of Sai or Rinku who were better suited to ODIs. Plus with all that pitch tampering thanks to Guru Dravid and that panauti stadium. All we had to do was play at Mumbai, Chennai or Kolkatta and pick a decent lower order batter instead of SKY and the cup was ours.

Hope we don't play another final (WT20) in that godawful Modi stadium
