Problem is Gambhir and his idiotic way of analyzing test cricket and cricket in general. England series could have been won too if Kuldeep played in tests there. Which test according to you would have been won by picking Kuldeep. Only Lords test was winnable which we lost, we didn't need Kuldeep there. Sundar,NKR all did ok over Kuldeep. Only Kamboj was dubious selection there. And which batting talent do you reckon we have, Paddikal,Patidar aren't test class. India has dearth of test level batters as well as spinners.

If Jadeja leaves we are screwed big time. Scary times ahead once Jaddu retires. Jaddu-Ash have spoiled us. A rare combo, at times even I have been critical of Jadeja but looking at current lot, things aren't looking great.

Here we have genius Gambhir having a spinning track and off spinner at his disposal and not using it. If you purely go by the bowling skill you can find atleast 10 left arm spinners that are better than Axar patel. Off spinners just one competition for Sundar. Tanush Kotian who has shown a lot of promise. Sundar already showed in the NZ series that he was ready to take over. Gauti and co has reduced a specialist spinner into an occasional part timer. Not even a regular part timer. Bigg Brother, BacktoCricaddict and Manucrick 3

First and third , same problem there too many bits and pieces players.Kuldeep could have played over Thakur and Reddy.Kuldeep should have played all five test given so many bits and pieces players were playing. Did it help chase 190 there with all those so called allrounders, samething in this test too. Edited November 17, 2025 by putrevus New guy 1
bowl_out Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Agarkar was saying that it is hard to have format-wise captains. Heck, we should have format-wise coaches. If they want to keep Gambhir because of the BJP connection or whatever reason, keep him to LOIs. For Tests, have experienced Ranji / domestic coaches. Gambhir came to limelight recently with KKR's IPL win, but Chandrakant Pandit who was KKR's coach then was lost in the background. Lord 1

diga Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Just like in corporate world, coaches should attend workshops to brushup on basics & coaching skills every year ... GG never had a formal certification from BCCI unlike the womens team coach - Amol Mazumdar
DeepSpace Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Gambhir is maha chewyt. Isko hatao, firangi laao!

GG never had a formal certification from BCCI unlike the womens team coach - Amol Mazumdar He is a classic example of an appointment based entirely on considerations not including merit. Appointed without having any qualifications or experience in red ball ( or even white ball) coaching. There is also no evidence of him showing the characteristics, skills or record of a "good" coach. Yet parachuted straight into the most high profile coaching job in Indian sport and the results are clear. putrevus 1

I don't think Gambhir landed with the post based on his qualifications, his nonstop jingostic nonsense on tv while he was so called expert played a vital role. lemsip 1
cowboysfan Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Sai and NKR are all we got? this will be a huge victory for Sa regardless of the pitch - hopefully this loss will get doofus Gambhir fired.
