In my home youtube and insta is strictly blocked for my kid. The only screen time is for video games.  That too highly restricted.

Every ICFer must to do that. Baad me jaaye career aur promotion. Prevent mobile phones from your kids.

Good luck for now. Once they enter teens your ability as a parent to protect your kid from the 'evil of world' starts diminishing but I agree controls have to be in place.

My grand father (the old man cat still walk a kilometer a day @ 90) had a saying - "A person climbing the tree can be supported only till his ass is reachable to your hands". :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Let's do what we can do. Leave remaining to the mighty god of seven hills, swamy venkateshwara.

I had many left leaning friends.

Once they had families and started paying taxes, became right leaning.

That's true in West but in India nirmalaji is killing us with taxes and BJP has also started dolling out sops and scheme and mahila vata before elections...so no difference between left and right there...except left does token lip service to dalits Muslims and farmers and BJP does full on crony capitalism

First our boomer prime minsiter needs to show the way and come face the media..the non GODI kind and not hide behind social media and radio ...then. Only our bhrastachar youth can learn from the vishwaguru...he can drink as much water as he wants...

It's very tempting to rip apart some of these opinions / slurs. We are lucky to have 60 years of Congress rule, not to mention current Congress rule in states like Karnataka.Thats gives us lots and lots of data.

But then wisdom is to not make the same mistake over and over again and waste time on dead horse. Everyone has coping mechanism through disagreeable times. You will have 10 more years of coping, at the very least.

I love the 10 year timeline ...as far as I know rss and vhp has a strict retirement age of 75...but then again we are in feku rajya andhabhakti ..so rules can be  overturned...if they are doing it in India using sir and ec...it's child play to do it within its own cult. Jai shri ram.

Same for voting for kejriwal for me. It's probably the age (say 18-28) where we think we know everything.

Also don't forget the bihar bribe of 10 k per woman..shameful to be honest

Maybe gen x had similar conundrums with millennials?

I guess it's the age mainly. Once that age (20-30 bracket) passes, good chance that the left leaning, support from communism, idealism etc. may change.

Gen X are millenials with slightly less ambition and more compliant to old school ways. Otherwise hardly any difference.

What I like about Gen Z: Upfront, no non sense, to the point, action oriented and get things done without worrying about "log kya sochenge".

Basically, gen Z are doing in real world what us millennials have always fantasized in our minds, but never had the courage since we do not want to offend.

What I dont like about Gen Z: Can be entitled, short attention span and probably lack patience to tolerate frustration of things not going as per planned. Anti hierarchy, but it may border at disregarding the experience of senior coworkers.

Boomers are those uncles who glorify hardships and suffering with "Humare  zamaane mein, hum log ek ghar mein 15 log mil kar rehte the aur bina pankha ke garmi mein sote the. Cheezein kam thi lekin sab log mein pyar bahut tha"

Not just boomers. It happened with the previous generations too. Pretty much everyone who gets to a certain age lives on nostalgia, tells stories about how life was better in their day, exaggerates how hard they worked, laments about how children these days are spoiled, how sanskaar (or for Westerners - culture/value) is going away etc. In 25 - 30 years, GenZers will be doing the same thing to whatever young gen exists then.

I have a different take on Gen Z. They are in their formative years just like we went through in the 90s. They have more technology doesn’t mean they are hampered by it. Some are  learning more and are not disillusioned like millennials. Certainly they can’t be reading books of the 90s and they will make their own space. Some of them are pretty brilliant that I interact with and are also very much  based. Of course they are left-leaning and have a different world view than us. G_B_says many of out secular liberal friends have turned at least right of center  in there later years. Give them time.

@Chaos  and @Mariyam are definitely GenZ.  We should keep a lower age limit on this forum. Please make it happen @Lord

@Chaos is an uncle and Mohatarma is a millennial. But we need to make restrictions on the IQ level of posters because some are really less than 50.

Let's have some fun. Need some non-serious posts to lighten up the environment.
