48 teams, what a greedy joke FIFA is. Expect a lot of crap matches.

 

It was completely fine with 32 teams and much more clear on how to qualify for the next stage.

 

This is turning into a bloated mess like many cricket world cups.

FIFA won't stop until China and India make the cut.

 

China possible even with 48 teams because they did qualify in 2002, but India won't get there even if it becomes a 128 teams event. 

 

China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh with 3.6 billion people (and only growing as % of world pop) is a market that greedy FIFA can't ignore.

One good thing about all other sports is the absence of draw rigging. BCCI is the most morally bankrupt organization, rigs every single ICC/ACC draw for the broadcasters.

Demography is catching up with italy.

 

They were never consistent to begin with. But kept picking up trophies along the way

They will split asia into zones with south asia as one zone.

 

48 will become 64.

 

2 slots for south asia , 5 slots of east asia. 2 slots for south east asia and 4 slots for middle east. Delta of 10 slots. Africa will get 5 slots. North america 4 slots.

Jokes on you cause even then we probably won't make it. Bangladesh is currently better, even Nepal will give us a game in our current state. We are lucky Afghans see South Asian football beneath them

They always had some creative players like Baggio, Totti, Del Piero who could conjure up some magic but have none today. 

 

The last player they had like that was Cassano but he was a nutcase.

Continental quotas is stupid, best teams should always play. Makes no sense to have Uzbekistan in a WC but not Italy 

 

Same **** happens in hockey (talking about 12 teams Olympics.....WC still has many spots) and RSA, Canada always take up 2 spots while a few European and Asian teams suffer. Those 2 teams especially never do anything of note, are punching bags for the others and only play a role when it comes to goal difference for the top teams. Teams like Japan/Malaysia/South Korea at least can upset some of the major teams or hold them to draws.

If there is a realistic chance of qualification indian money will pour in.

Indian football is a loss making machine. Nobody who is sane will invest, just a hope for a qualification isn't enough to bring in investors. Even Ambanis are having second thoughts having run the league for a decade

China in team sports is a cultural issue... You can scour internet &.there are intresting theories on why is that.

 

Chinese dominate, Gymnastics, artistic swimming and have even started to excel in athletics.  Swimming they are dominating in Asia and are slowly pushing Australians and Americans as well.  Thanks to making Swimming compulsary in some of their provinces to clear competitive exams.

 

Rest is obviously economic prosperity, proper nutrition.

 

In India some jaahil randos find issues in Feeding eggs to kids in mid day meal.  Maharashtra was such a major example of it.

Ideally those people should be sentenced to jail if it were up to me.  For deliberately trying to play with next gen's health.
