Very interesting interview. Leaves a possible interpretation of an Indian spy who penetrated one of the gangs. This guy was second to Ch Aslam. He is in the film too.

After second viewing, think it's a special one. In modern time, to hold people's attention for 3.5 hours. That's just insane.

Similarly they are confused on what to bitch about, the anti-pakistani angle or the mischaracterization

I don't know about them but this movie simply didn't sit with me. Unlike F1, which I watched twice on IMAX, I am not considering to watch the part 2 here let alone re-watching part 1.

 

It might be a good movie objectively, but it's not my taste.

I liked it a lot. not as much as I liked animal. compelling but no real emotion. both films use music well.  first time I’ve heard casual swearing so on point. the revenge killing spree towards the start was as good as anything put out by bond. why announce part two now. better to hint at it like animal

On second viewing, noted that smoking is being used as a filler too often. Saw this in Animal as well. I have no views on smoking per se. But its rather lazy trope at times.

Chaudhary Aslam happened to be the character I found most interesting instead of Rehman Dakait.

Animal has superior handling  of emotions,acting  and music.

 

It is just that it descended into sleaze couple of times and that triggered lot of people, who ended up hating it.

 

Animal triggered entire LW and a part of RW. But durandhar just triggered LW.

 

It is also that vanga does not handle criticism well. Gets triggered even for a 2p roadside jholawalllah critics

Yeah. That trope is in every other movie.

Not sure what is anti pakistan there. They did do MOST things shown in the film.

Highest second Saturday of all time. 53 cr. Sunday might be even bigger. There were questions on the film looking at the lukewarm advance bookings, Day 1 was nothing extraordinary but then that arabic song reel of Akshay Khanna got viral and it changed the course of the film. It hyped the film so much that an above average film turned into a juggernaut.
