It is probably like many in the pre independence gen saying Kranti (1981) opened eyes of kids of 80s to what those who lived in British era went through. The kids of 80s could feel differently on Kranti and may have different priorities including fighting corruption, understanding technological advancement, etc.
 

The kids of today know about terrorist attacks. Terrorism has not vanished. It is still present maybe in less frequency, but maybe more deadly. The kids would have also see  how Hindus were left on their own in BD in 2024.

For a time yes, but his style of filmmaking lost its charm now.

RGVs prime focus was to use underworld as the base for stories. But do it multiple times and people will get bored off.

 

Same will happen with Dhurandhar style movies as well, if they continue to use the same pattern again and again to churn the profits.

 

Passion for film making and exploring new stories gets lost, if you stay in your comfort zone.

The story line get's stale. But the way he makes films. The way he uses sound and light.

 

Especially shiva. Till that time telugu movies were brightly lit like a baraat mehendi ceremony. Dude came in and changed all that with one movie.

 

Of course, now he is ****.

 

But he has inspired many directors. Like Anurag Kashyap, Puri Jagannath, Sandeep Vanga and now it looks as if Dhar is an addition to that list.

 

I would say, more than awards and collections, it is the legacy that matters more.

Yeah, I used to like RGV films when he was at his peak like Shiva, Rangeela, Satya, etc. Thought I only watched Satya recently in cinemas so can’t say how the others hold up.

 

Rajamouli films, it can be argued, are like flavor of the season that make a L. Impact on box office but then may lose steam later on relatively speaking.

I am more glad they showed that our response to Parliament attacks and Kandhar hijacking... Touchy topics in current environment.

Dhar can't be called biased at all imo.

Yeah. They have medium recall value. But the man adopts over time. His latest work RRR is so different from his first movie Student no.1

 

If you find time, watch movies directed by Vishwanath. Like Sirivennela and Sagara Sangamam. They are quite good.

It's definitely anti UPA establishment. Of that there is little doubt.

The only part I found which I found anti establishment of that time was the dialogue by Madhavan in which he says, "Ek din aayegi aisi sarkar, jise desh ki fikr hogi". That was the only part.

 

Other than that Pakistan's ill will towards India is well known..

Firstly I think this correlation and causation issue. Terrorism situation was hopelessly bad in UPA era and it changed remarkably after 2024 especially with new security intelligence structure. So if he shows a sea change in situation with change in establishment That doesn't make him pro establishment by causation. Because this is not narrative. This is a fact. 

 

What is borderline narrative is the impact of demonetization and the impact that it had on funding terrorist. It did have some impact. But you can see this is building upto 2016 maybe. Let's see.

Post Ramu's tweets, i think we haven't this level of world building in our cinema. It has holes for sure but your are transported into that jungle and the internal politics there. In fact india issue is absolutely peripheral to motives of the characters. 

 

This I thought was the most interesting bit. I would have personally liked the spy to get conflicted in all of this. Having nightmares and doubts about where he actually is. Waking up and not sure where he is. Getting confused on whom to kill and whom to save.

I am waiting for his backstory in second part. We might see peak ranveer singh there.

Tried CAM print but couldn't watch past first scene.

My IPTv guy is from Kaneda. He gets 4K prints and also good watchable cam prints.i have stopped downloading for a decade now
