Not sure, probably there was some controversy with him when he debuted for MI some years back. Dont remember if it was action issue or age fudging.

 

He played for India A, so he was quite close in getting India Cap. But somewhere down the line Agarkar & co started pushing tall and fast bowlers. Probably Morkel is asking for HTD bowlers.

 

Gurnoor, Mayank, Mayank...all jump the queue and moved ahead. Harshit too leapfrogged.

As said many times, Fast bowling allrounder and fast bowlers are the fastest way to get into Indian team.

 

Hope IPL gets rid of Impact player rule, it will ruin any chance of finding a decent allrounders and will produce all one sided finishers who will do nothing in international cricket.

Rashik has the smarts. But he just does not have fast bowler fitness. Remember him cramping every ball in the IPL against MI. Atleasf 4 or 5 times physio had to be called in.  Then in another match he did the same. Fitness is the no.1 requirement.

on a  serious note: he went from playing the worldcup to IPL regular to becoming totally irrelevant ending up playing local leagues but not giving up and  coming back as an obscure net bowler to make it back. Kudos to his spirit

I meant at the end of his career... Mohit in 2015 WC used to touch 140k.. he was more talented than Rasikh

This Red ball Challenger Trophy was a great idea by the BCCI.

 

No better way to prepare the upcoming talent, especially genuine quicks, during the off season or when no red ball games are available. 

 

If Mayank, Tyagi and co. are more ready for red ball now then nothing like it.

 

They should organize this twice a year.
