And now Pakistan. This has nothing to do with finances and winning in a weaker group. This is a noise they are making in the International circuit. And this will have a far more reaching, and long-term damage to the reputation of India as a host, as well as for the BCCI. For some time now, BCCI has been flexing muscle. After this Bangladesh and Pakistan showdown, countries like Australia and England will start raising their voice. They definitely will make hay when the sun shines. BCCI, which also happens to run ICC in a way, needs to be very strategic. I think this just exposes their unprofessionalism. WC was moved out of India just for them, they chose SL when given the option between SL and UAE. They have no problem with SL or arrangements there, or playing other teams. Just doing this nakhra against India. There will be losses for broadcasters and indirectly ICC, lawsuits will be filed and loss of faith in PCB will become deeply entrenched in the psyche of other boards. bowl_out and Manucrick 2

Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 (edited) I hate BCCI and the people running it. But in this entire saga, BCB and PCB have come out smelling worse. There will be internal pushback in both those countries, wait and watch. Already Bangladeshi players have shown resentment against their board bigwigs. Players know the consequences of such tantrums, the ones running the boards will find alternate opportunities to loot, but think of all the people in grassroots of Pak/BD cricket. Without ICC handout, cricket will stop functioning in those countries, and India generates most of the revenue from which revenue is shared to all boards. Edited February 1 by Gollum
Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 There is a a reason 14/16 countries called Bangladesh's BS in the vote 2 weeks back. Fans from those countries may hate India/BCCI, whatever. But the suits are always pragmatic, they know which side of the bread to butter. BCCI has 1000 faults, but they never rush and make emotional, hasty decisions. Sure most of their decisions are self-serving (not for Indian cricket's benefit), also there is an aspect of cowardice and political pressure....but they know how to conduct business. Dunno about PCB, but BCB will come crawling to us sometime later this year and beg for our mercy. They did this stunt not for Fizz, but for their crucial election coming up this month. They don't care about their players at all. Look at the BPL protests and the Tamim, Mehidy controversy. G_B_ 1
Sgattick10 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Shame on BCCI, they should have done the same in Asia cup, but no, the banias of BCCI couldn't let cheap money go. Rightarmfast 1

BCCI already got every cricket board in line, their support was never in question. nothing in this whole fiasco changed the reputations of any boards or countries

This is exactly why I said, Jay Shah and guys at BCCI /ICC knew exactly what they are doing and have more inside info then icfers. Time for ICC to send a letter begging them to play. They reject and then FCUK them Royally. I don’t want PCB to do a UTurn. BCCI andits people must make noises so that PCB guys feel they are being dishonoured, at the same time invincible Edited February 1 by mishra G_B_ and raki05 1 1

There are always consequences for decisions you make, and those may not be entirely visible to you until a while later. If ICC refuses to recognize PSL as an accredited league, do you think foreign players will get NOCs to play there? Give it a few months time, there will be rona dhona and doomsday predictions in their forum. From what I have heard, most of their members are overseas Pooks, so they shouldn't be taken seriously. They will egg their countrymen on to make foolish decisions, just for the thrills/entertainment and fake bravado on internet, but wash their hands off the minute they sense reality hitting. Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Usually locals have a better sense of reality than NRIs/NRPs etc. I am 100% sure these Bradford/Birmingham Mirpuris will be celebrating such developments while most actual resident Pakistanis ki phat rahi hogi. Cricket is their only entertainment outlet, and that will come under risk. They lost hockey, squash, never had a credible film industry....ek hi bacha tha au woh bhi haath se jayega.

mishra Posted February 1 Posted February 1 BehanC ! iCC aur BCCI ki khairaat par jeete hai. Gaa nd par laat aur beizaati jaroori hai

Cricket World can afford without giving khairaat to Pakistan. TBH i was only icfer who expected it to play out like this. Pakistani board will be contacted, but a stern language and official channels only
Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 (edited) JioHotstar will be compensated in IPL, just short-term pinch they will feel. Even there, I think they can file compensation claims, and ICC should cut PCB's share of revenue to ensure the same. Anyway with 2 sides permanently out of our FTP, I say extend the IPL. Let it be a proper double round-robin event. One extra month if needed, take it. And haan, very important. FGS remove the ban on gaming platforms like Dream XI, that stupid ban decreased valuation of title/TV/streaming rights. But of course they should cover only our league and wherever IPL owners are stakeholders. It is time to make Indian cricket richer !!!! Edited February 1 by Gollum

Gollum Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 (edited) I will watch King day 1, 1st show. SRK has somehow done what Indian govt, BCCI couldn't. For that, he has my gratitude. Who knew that one auction buy would create this much bawaal !!!!! Even Gandhiji's Dandi salt march wasn't this impactful. In my eyes, SRK has gone from to Edited February 1 by Gollum mishra 1
