We've seen enough. Finished our chances of WCs twice now - 2023 and 2026. Feel for Bumrah that he has to carry this team and then has to bear the curse of this manhoos stadium.

I say get some Shiv Sena folks and Bengalis. Shiv Sena can dig the pitch and Bengal folks can burn the stands and stadium down the way they almost did to Eden Gardens in 96. I can't bear any more torture of this manhoos stadium. I don't even recall one good memory at this god-forsaken venue.

More than stadium its the black soil pitches that do us

You can get any type of soil here - black, red, yellow, brown etc, and the result will be the same. This stadium is manhoos and needs to be burned to the ground.

Only two ICC tournaments lost in ICC tournament from the start of 2023 ICC world cup lol Both happened ehre

And both ended with us getting kicked out of the tourney. Apparently the WI match will also be played at the same venue so wait for another loss at the same shyte stadium.

My main complaint with this venue is how despite 100k people, it always falls silent when we are under the pump. Total contrast to Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai crowds who support our team even louder. Must be very demoralizing to have so many supporters around you and all fall completely silent, psychologically a big boost to the opponent side as Smith said about Nov 19.

Exactly.  MCG was bringing down the roof when we were 33/4 against Pakistan . You have to bring the best out of them. It was like a graveyard

Usually stadiums are named after dead people. But this stadium bears a megalomaniac's name, and was primed for 24 GE, entire 23 WC was orchestrated as coronatioon ceremony for him. How narcissistic must a creature be to insert itself everywhere? Not like Guj hasn't had any great figure from the past or famous cricketer after who it could be named....titans like Sardar Patel, Vinoo Mankad.

In this day and age, such levels of vanity aren't exhibited even by XI, Putin types...even they are aware of how such moves will be perceived by their people. This is straight out of Kim-Jong-Un and Gaddafi playbooks, a great shame for Indian democracy.
