What if the 2023 ODI final was played on a red soil pitch?

Get over the 2023 final. Infact I'm thankful for that loss.

Cuck behaviour.

ODI WC is different plus we need to beat Aus in final to get over it

Keep on griping about the past is loser behaviour... We're absolutely killing it in almost every icc events since then.

Focus on the future.

I think each loss has helped us advance further, fix issues

2017 loss - we took out finger spiners brought in wristies

2022 loss - Rohit completely changed the team approach

2023 loss - Weeded out Kela.. we immediately saw the impact

Since then we have not lookedback. If we strictly select players on merit we could have won 2023 as well. There was absolutely no business for SKY to play ODIs.  Rahul Dravid and Rohit sharma buried us there.

I think you misunderstood his post.  He was not suggesting that "ODI WC is irrelevant".   He is trying to convey the point that we should not keep dragging the past results forever.  WC2023 happened 3 yrs ago.  It's time to focus on WC2027.

Black soil pitch was said to be chosen by captain (Rohit) and coach (Dravid), believing that it would give advantage to India while banking on Aus to bat first - following its usual batting first strategy in high pressure games.

What sports teaches us is to be graceful in victory, generous in loss, and be sporting.

No amount of “what if” scenarios are going to change anything. Even WI could say “what if” X or Y had played more sensibly in 1983, which the WI lost chasing only 183.

Must have been 70-30 Dravid's call. Sharma never did those things with MI.

What if KL Rahul had opened in this world cup?

Problem is you don't need those heavy losses to learn the way the game is evolving. We haven't learnt that we don't need a spinner + allrounder spinner in overcast conditions like in 2019 SF. As recently as Bengaluru 2024 we had played trio of Ash Jaddu & kuldeep under extreme overcast conditions.

Not reaching 300 plus was on two people Rohit first for throwing his wicket away and Rahul with his phattu innings.

BTW has Gill played any important knock in whiteball formats. Tests he had very good England series but nothiong much else.

We will never get over it. India was so far ahead of every team .if the reports are true about Rohit and Dravid played any role with Pitch selection or changing then they both have costed Indian team from becoming greatest whiteball team.

"King" Kohli hasn't done much either. Failed in 2015 WC SF, failed in 2017 CT Final, shyte the bed with the bat and in selection (picking Chahal over a red-hot Shami) in 2019 WC final, not doing much in 2023 WC final when Rohit had handed him a great start.

KL Rahul and Gill may not have done much but Kohli hasn't done much either in key games in ODIs both as captain and batter.
