Mariyam Posted April 23 Posted April 23 No idea who this guy is, however, from the article you posted: Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Gupta said, “Madhav Khattar accompanied Gautam to the event in Vasco, and it has also come on record that a video of the derogatory statement against St. Francis Xavier made by Gautam Khattar was recorded by him and further broadcast on social media platforms. Based on the investigation, it has also been revealed that the speech was prepared by his brother Madhav Khattar, which was delivered by Gautam and recorded by Madhav to be broadcast on social media platforms. Accordingly, he was made a co-accused in this case for involvement in the crime.” That is the reason of his arrest.

It wasn’t like he had an academic discussion on the atrocities or even made a diss track. From what I read he outright abused Francis Xavier. That will not sit well with many who still visit his church/ grave today. The intent here was to hurt religious sentiments/feelings. Edited April 23 by Mariyam

Gollum Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Indians have infinite stamina for useless issues. US has multiple reusable rocket companies, China is making great strides in robotics and drone technology. In vishwaguruland we are still obsessed with stuff that happened 500-1000 years ago (both RW and LW indulge in this excessively). We are rapidly losing ground, and what could have been India's century, we are allowing other parties to stake claim. Ruling party's discourse these days is absolutely gutter-level and that is contributing to most of this nonsense. Sgattick10, New guy, Lone Wolf and 2 others 3 2
Gollum Posted April 24 Posted April 24 (edited) Goan inquisition was obviously bad but St. Xavier's role in it is still not conclusive. Also the medieval period was a messy place to be in, where violence/oppression was the order of the day. Heck there was this cruel breast tax law targetting the lower castes, imposed by the Hindu raja of Travancore. Anyway let us also focus on the positives. He was one of the founders (alongside St. Loyola) of the Jesuit Society and that society has done a lot of good for this country, primarily in the field of education. Punched way above their weight and I am sure many of us ICFers have also benefited at some point in our lives due to association with educational institutes run by Jesuit fathers. I can't believe you are actually saying this while living in India and not being aware of the developments. There are over 400 space start ups in India. Several of whom are doing work in cutting edge technology. Please read up on what AgniKul Cosmos, Pixxel, Skyroot, OrbitAID,GalaxEYE and Bellatrix are doing --these are just a few examples of cutting edge work no one else in the world is doing. My firm is a seed investor in a few of them and you will see outstanding results in a few years. The drone technology scene in India is even more dynamic and competitive. randomGuy and Mariyam 1 1

If you start to read Medeival History in depth especially Sultanate period you will see such instances in literally every page. You don't expect good days under foreign rule and crying victim to hundreds of years old atrocities makes no difference at the end. Edited April 24 by Lone Wolf

One of the CXOs at Agnikul stays in my parents' building. Or at least owns a flat there. He has a 24*7 security detail. rangeelaraja 1

Good luck to you and all startups. Those who are doing atleast something can not be blamed. But overall gaps to hain. Recently byd launched blade 2 budget lfp batteries which charge 100 km in under a minute. Then 2 days back, catl came out with even faster charging budget lfp battery and also another 500 wh/kg density battery for airplanes. In India, Ola is the only one in ev battery space and charging speed are slow. Need more innovation from India atleast in this space .. Mariyam and rangeelaraja 2

The law is clear here. Ghar ke chaukhat ke andar chahe kittni gaaliyan nikalo. This guy, for whatever reasons, is revered by many people. He is the patron saint of Goa. The talk was conducted with an intention to hurt publicly. The two words I've highlighted matter. If he is really a villain as you claim. Publish a book on his deeds. Cite sources.
