Wayward and expensive Avesh? Who? Mohsin ? lol Umran ? Apart from Bumrah, Prasidh is the only capped test match pacer we have who is on an upward trajectory in tests. While he was wayward in his first 5 tests from late 2023 to mid 2025 ........ starting the 5th test in England 2025, Prasidh is bowling quite well. Is averaging 22.4 with a SR of 38 with 18 wickets from these 4 tests. But he always was a support pacer whom I wanted to take Ishant's role in SENA tests. Never considered him lead pacer material. Avesh ..... I supported him briefly around IPL 2018 when he was bowling a really heavy ball. But soon saw that he was bowling 130 k in Ranji Trophy and was looking to take the easy way out. Did not want him to play for India as a result. Mohsin .. He is an exceptional bowler. It is just sad that he had multiple clots in his upper bowling arm. Struggled with his health for a long time. Better not to " lol " such a sad case. Umran .. Had great potential as a white ball bowler as long as he was express. Was never interested in red ball cricket. Took 13 wickets from 10 ODIs and 11 wickets from 8 T20Is averaging 22. Was unfairly dropped from LOIs. 16 hours ago, Adamant said: We are not promoting inefficiency and mediocrity, we are inefficient and mediocre. To justify someones selection they will give them those awards over players who performed better. If they are trying to select someone from A sides thn what they do is that particular players will play all the games and other competitor will rotate so tht the player comes with better numbers like most runs/wkt for Ind-a in the tour. Where are u getting this? Siraj himself and Gill clarified after the match that he ain’t injured. “Firstly, no, Siraj wasn't injured we also felt that, even in the first match what happens is, after such a long time, when a person is playing his match last he played was Afghanistan, which was in June so he was playing almost after a couple of months so after 1.5-2 months, when a person plays it takes time for someone to come back in the rhythm,” Gill told reporters in the post-match press conference. “In the first test, we also felt the pace was slow, but sometimes when you play, you come back into the rhythm. As far as the injury is concerned, it was nothing like that,” he added.
MK55 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 The thing with Siraj - my guess is: 1: He’s either having some medical illness that has sapped his stamina. 2: He’s just lost his rhythm n pace entirely coz he severely under prepared during his time off. However this also seems weird because he’s an experienced guy who also played the practice match and the first test. You don’t require a month of overs to get back in “rhythm” after 1.5 months away. tweaker 1

Many on this forum identified the issue when Siraj started bowling in the 1st inning of the 1st test. When Gurnoor and Siraj were bowling in the nets ,the team management should be able to identify who is bowling well. Gurnoor had 10 wicket haul against Sri Lanka A,In the practice game also he bowled well . Gambhir has shown he is very stubborn regarding his likes and dislikes and can even risks team performance for the same.

Having said that pitch got slower and slower as the match went on. Looked totally dead. They thought they could run through SL with Suthar and hoped Saransh would chip in. Backfired. If they were not going to pick Gurnoor they should have stuck with Kuldeep.
