COMPARISION of FAST Bowling coaches -Nehra V/s ZAK V/s BHarat arun V/s Morne Morkel V/s Others

As the Topic Suggests- i want all our intelligent experts to share their views about these 4 coaches and also any other coaches they feel can be as good as them. also share some seriously average/not so good fast bowling coaches who have been picked for India in the past.

 

Please compare them and advise who could be the best pick.

i will share my views later.

others are not good enough for ranking.Morne Morkel has done nothing till now.

I will rate Ashish Nehra as he has worked with Rabada, Siraj,Prasidh, Ashok, Gurnoor, Arshad.

 

GT performance in IPL is due to their pacers as they have only three batsman.

 

Many GT pacers are scattered over team India ,India A team etc.

 

Gurnoor inspite of not playing much has looked lot better than the bowlers with other franchise and coach.

 

Nehra has done lots of good work with Gurnoor and it showed in the first odi.

 

Those who follows Gurnoor in domestic have observed significant improvements in his speed,and has noted he has a outswing as a stock ball.

 

Most pacers ie Tyagi etc had a rule when in doubt bowl slower ball.Gurnoor has not shown this and bowl at his full speed.

My choice 

1.Nehra Ji-   Nehra bhai has some super powers , i do not know what but he definitely is one level better than the close second. if i give Nehra 100/100 then bharat arun will score 80.  BHai ne har bowler ko khatarnak bana diya hai. any bowler who comes under him becomes lethal.

2. Bharat Arun Ji:- his past results speak a lot about him so he knows his job.

3. Morne Morkel Or ZAK- morne gets bowlers to work hard and he himself does the wicket keeping , suggesting mistakes . i saw this for 45 minutes. he must have kept for at least 40 balls. zak has some swinging skills as he could beat batsmen even at the end of his career when he was under 130k

4. Varun Aroon- he was coach of one of the IPL teams -SRH and i think atleast 2 bowlers performed well. he had average bowlers still they performed well.

5. Paras Mhambrey is Worse..not worth indian team

Arun is better than Nehra as he had good  understanding on working with spinners too. Ashwin has detailed in past on how Arun worked with him after his disastrous tour Australian tour in 2014 and again in 2018.

 

No wonder guys like Shami found new lease when Arun was in charge and once he was gone Shami was not the same.Siraj was product of Arun's coaching in Hyderabad.He won again in IPL with KKR.

 

Bowling coach should be able identify issues plaguing the bowler and should be able guide them thru while boosting their confidence.

 

Nehra has not done any reclamation projects and also he was not that great as a bowling coach with RCB.

Only Arun and Morkel has some coaching exp. zak and nehra have no exp. 

 

zak was bowling coach of mi when bond was also the bowling coach, not sure that assignment can be taken seriously then he coached lsg and under him they played half fit Mayank making things worse for mayank

 

nehra is like the director of the gt not the bowling coach, think their bowling coach is nadeem .

 

Paras+dravid not exactly sure what they were doing with the side -- They kept recycling rhhane, didnt create any high potential back-up be it batters or bowlers. They preferred bowler like --Avesh, mukesh, etc..

Bhai BHarat Arun has produced phenomenal results, he had actually groomed Umesh and Varun , though varun was never utilised by MSD and Varun was picked in a tournament and was never played in england. Varun finished the career of one of their bowlers by hitting his head. Varun Aroon ..one of the deadliest fast bowler india ever produced till them , even today Mayank yadav has equalled him , he has not beaten. shocked he had kinda no career for India thanks to thalla.

 

Arun is great but Nehra is not just a bowling coach , he is a full-on Head coach , a strategist.

 

GT- hardik pandya ko jeeta diya IPL, when Hardik is an emotional aggressive captain who has some seriously low captaincy Skills ( proof is his stint with MI)..Hardik is most talented but always had fitness issues..is sab ke baad IPL jeeta..who won it , who captained the team. it was nehra who controlled the team from outside.

 

2026 ke ipl mein _ GILL  jo bilkul raw captain tha ...lagataar indian team ki captaincy bhi bekaar kar raha tha. he actually wins the IPL..no RCP wins as KOHLI and RAJAT Patidar were in golden touch and BHUVI and the aussie pacer were too smart.

GT ke pace attack to terror attack bana diya-

- DSP Siraj ne ek ball 149k pe fanke...i guess dsp was the highest wicket taker.

- prasidh missed few matches still he got so many wickets.

- ashok sharma ko 150k karvaya aur till he was not hurt usko khilaya

- Rabada turned into a MONSTER under him

- har IPL team ko jaldi OUT KIYA.

- INDIA ke patta wickets mein duniya ko dikhaya genuine fast bowlers agar proper line n length pe bowl karein to patta wicket pe bhi rule karte hai.

- Vaibhav jaisse khatarnak ballebaaz ko shant rakha

- except kohli and rajat patidar ..i guess no other batsman scored 70+ runs against GT.

 

strategy ka KING, fast bowling ka SUPER GYAAN >> all fast bowling coaches 

only reason why he is not india coach is bcos he may not want to work under Gautam Gambhir.

ZAK is also special...he coaches LSG well...mayank ki fitness is not one of his controllables..medical team responsible ho sakti hain. medical team ne bola hoga he is fit else wo match nahi khelta. ZAK kissi unfit player ko 150 k karne ko nahi bolega, medical team approved his fitness samjho , fitness is a different vertical.

 

mene zak ki bowling dekhi hai...he is super highly skilled like bhuvi. he is as good a bowling coach as Nehra but on overall strategy he is not as good as Nehra JI.

 

i shall be delighted if ZAK or Arun Or Nehra ji take over INDIAN bowling coach responsibilities.

I have met morkel at vishakapatnam airport and congratulated him over his coaching and how i saw him keeping to Harshit , Prasidh and arshdeep..even i was impressed with his keeping skills. behench'd gurnoor kitna lamba hoga ..prasidh aur morkel ki height ek barabar hain. 

abhi bhi players se jyada fit hai.  hamara keeper KL rahul se jyada acha keeper laga mujhe. 

har ball se pehle hand se instructions de raha tha pacer ko aur piche se bata raha tha ..50 balls ko keep kiya aur teeno pacers ko train kiya match se pehle. only prasidh was allowed to bowl with a shorter run up( i dont know why, may be he was to come as first change). Harshit bowled nearly at full pace during practice.

 

match se pehle mere ko african pace attack khatarnaak lag raha tha. prasidh ne 4 wicket liye aur hamara pace attack arsh ne 2 aur harshit ne 1 , kuldeep ne 2 wicket. hamare young attack ne africa ke khatarnaak attack ki le li.

batting mein jaiswal/rohit aur baad mein kohli ne baja diya.......even Morkel is good.

but if i am BCCI chairmen i will put nehra as bowling coach or head coach if gautam agrees to leave.

gautam will not be dropped.

I already said many time Ashish shoul dbe considered for headcoaching for Indian team.I agree on Nehra's being good head coach.I was just comparing them as bowling coaches.

 

He should be considered for headcoaching Indian team.I don't think he is ready to leave GT or work under Gambhir as headcoach.
