Was reading in social media that Gurnoor, Harshit and Prasidh are taking the slots that should have gone to Aquib Nabi , Bhuvi and Rasikh Salam.

Their ideal pace attack ....

Bhuvi

Nabi

Rasikh

Prince

Everyone must be short and slow.

Nabi's image is becoming bigger than Bumrah among people who probably have not seen a single over by Nabi.

IPeeel quota fans for you... Anyone can see Rasikh isn't international class and even JK side is least interested in him.  He is Mohit Sharma level when he turned 35 lol

Bhuvi Rasikh naturally get hype coz they are from RCB and their fanbase keeps hyping them just like CSK fans do with Cumbhoj and Tukuraj.

I hope selectors keep rage baiting these low IQ dehati fans.. these jokers have even infested Reddit with their stupid opinions.

I don't think even boobie got spanked for 3 sixes in one over to lose a mtch then 26 runs in another match to lose a match. He is a clueless guy.

Lord Boobie has been spanked for 100 runs in an ODI, clueless malnourished trundler could do zilch about that.

yes. But prasdham couldn't defend 48 runs in 2 overs. We lost a winnable match. Even in Tests going at 6.4 an over.  All fast bowlers can be thrashed around regardless of height. Exhibit A  . Marco Jansen who is treated like dirt even in MLC.

It's courtesy of IPL that we handed over India cap to Chetan Sakariya & Sandeep Sharma.

Nabi is getting the same hype which Shri Mukesh Kumar ji used to get few years back.

Bro, that Prasidh was struggling with injury. He was out after the SA series for almost an year.

A fit Prasidh Krishna has helped us defend a low total vs England alongside Siraj.

Siraj is not tall. So this blanket tall theory shouldn't really be explicitly mentioned.  Bumrah is not tall either. Shamis not tall either.   While it is  generally a good policy is this theroy applicable only for GT bowlers? Why is Kartik Tyagi not under consideration.

Arshdeep is tall, but not from GT :winky:

Tall fast bowlers do give you extra edge. We saw that in BGT where likes of Siraj & Akashdeep struggled coz their good lengths were driveable and their back of lengths were easier to negotiate.

Prasidh who is tall played one game and made an impact immediately, even Harshit did in first game but one bad outing ended his journey. Bumrah is an exception but he too is 6.0 feet tall.

Amongst new bowlers...Mohsin, Tyagi, Gurnoor, Mayank, Ashok all are 6 feet and above. Others like Nishant Saranu is 6.8/6.9, Yudhvir, Hangargekar...they are also tall.

I think Eden Apple Tom & Sushant are the ones who are under 6 feet but fast and athletic like Nagarkoti. Umran is also small and hence don't get the bounce which can go with its pace. Such bowlers are useful in subcontinent where the deliveries can skid of the surface..but in SENA countries, they will struggle.

For Tyagi, he is behind the race right now due to injuries where others leapfrogged him. This IPL gave him a second life, he should focus on FC this season, and develop his skills.

Arshdeep was already part of our set up. This hard and fast filters from the get go cannot come from captain though. His main bowler that tied the England series was not the tallest guy . He bowled at 146k on day 5 pitch.

Kartik Tyagi has played no FCC and hardly any List A in the last few years.

Same applies to Mayank Yadav.

Must do that first.

He is not even getting chances in his state. SO he has to pick another state play forr 2 years and lose his prime years? If you really want to pick a guy based on eye test he is your guy. It is not like Gurnoor played mountain of first class matches.

Newbie 5'8" Prince Yadav has just played 2 ODIs and is in the T20I squad. So it is not a blanket theory. Someone who seems really skilful is still getting in.

It was not blanket theory. But these words about  physical attributes can be insulting for shorter performers for Indian team.  Shami was the one who took 7 wickets when NZ was well on course to hunt down our total in semi final with older ball. This is also a wrong conclusion from Gill. He sounds like only tall bowelrs can do well with older ball.  If he talks about things like extra bounce, reverse swing, conventional swing, yorker..  that is understandable.  For me bowling smarts is the biggest attribute required in LOIs. That is where  most of our bowlers fall short. That is where Bumrah sets himself apart.

1.  Based on eye test, Gurnoor of 2026 is significantly ahead of Tyagi of mid-2026.

2.  Gurnoor has played 18 FC matches, including 2 A-team tests. Most of them recently. That is good enough if someone is quick and bowling well.

Why was Gurnoor not played in the toughest IPL enviornment? Mayank was exposed by Vaibhav and Rajat patidar. He was quick and brainless got thrashed around. So far Gurnoor has played against Afghanistan.  SO i can't conclusively say he is "significantly better" than him.

Hear the whole interview.

Gill was talking about the middle phase of ODIs when the ball is not moving. He said at that time, tall fast bowlers add a bit more.

Not everyone has to be a T20 pacer, especially at the teething phase of their careers.

You talked about eye test and not performance or opposition.

Gurnoor is running in better and releasing the ball better than Tyagi of mid 2026. The seam position is good. The ball is getting amazing lift and carry.    Even if he gets hit in ODIs ( can happen to anyone ) these aspects will remain.
