In that middle phase, we have seen once the ball gets old, on a good wicket with only four fielders outside, batting does get very easy. So, that's the idea behind having [someone like] Gurnoor [Brar], in the squad, someone like a Prasidh [Krishna], even a Harshit [Rana]. Tall fast bowlers, [because] they offer a little bit more to us. vishalvirsingh, Mosher, singhvivek141 and 10 others 5 8
tweaker Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Harshit and Gurnoor should be encouraged to bat between them,so that we can use them , when needed to bat.

Adamant Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Good, atleast we are on the right path. Fast bowlers below 5’9 should not play international cricket. There are only a couple of exceptions to that. Lord and Sgattick10 2

Maxwell or head with ball. CUmmins with bat. Cummins batting alone won them a couple of world cup matches. Labu's fielding won the match against NZ. Head's catch in final. Warner's several saves.
Ultimate_Game Posted June 22 Posted June 22 2 hours ago, Vk1 said: Single biggest reason why Aussies have all those world cups Single biggest reason is that someone steps up on both side of the ball. We've seen Ponting, Martyn, Gilchrist, Hayden, Smith, Head etc. show up as batters. And have seen McGrath, Warne, Johnson, Starc, Hazlewood, Cummins etc. show up with the ball. Aussie bowlers are able to perform as their batters have given them the security blanket. rollingstoned 1

I don't think even boobie got spanked for 3 sixes in one over to lose a mtch then 26 runs in another match to lose a match. He is a clueless guy. Manucrick 1
express bowling Posted June 22 Posted June 22 (edited) Atleast 70% of our pacers in the pool should be tall, quick and skilful. And the other 30% should be amazingly skilful .. and either quick like Bumrah, Shami OR tall like Arshdeep. Edited June 22 by express bowling Vk1, Lone Wolf and Mosher 3

India, SA traditionally had the batting talent to match aussies including 2003 wc. Where Aussies consistently out score over others is their tall /quick fast bowlers. SA had a few but didn't have the mental strength express bowling 1

Also Afghanistn batsmen thrashed their fast bowlers. Also Pakistan also batted well against them. It is only INdia that choked alongwith SA.
Gollum Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Gill is growing on me. First allowing Jaiswal to open against Afghans, sacrificing his opening slot. Now the right noise, it is important that our test captain understands fast bowling, what works, what doesn't. Long may this continue, and may Gill lead us to a WTC title very soon. But Aus gains momentum the longer a tournament goes, and they reserve their best for the finals. Beating them in a WC final will be the high point for any team, that is what makes Lanka's 1996 win so special. When we beat them in a WC final, that is when we know that Indian white ball cricket has peaked. Edited June 23 by Gollum Sgattick10 and Vk1 2

When we beat them in a WC final, that is when we know that Indian white ball cricket has peaked. You need players with alpha mentality to keep Austrlaia in check. There is a reason why Austrlaia has never beaten India in an ICC event with Pandya in the side. Played 5 lost all 5 with Pandya. Australia doesn't do anythign special. It is often a case of opposition wilting under self-induced pressure for no reason. 97 boundaryless balls against bowlers like Mitch marsh ,Head( who had figures of 4 overs 9 runs) was a result of our own timid mentality. There is a lso a reason why India never won a world cup with KL Rahul in it. He was directly responsible in all the encounters. India needs players with clutch mentality. NZ is a methodical strategy baased team. If you shock them they quiet often wilt. SA are generational chokers. In 2019 semi final England was on a high. Australia's usual strategy didn't work which is basically opposition self-destructing themselves.

express bowling Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Was reading in social media that Gurnoor, Harshit and Prasidh are taking the slots that should have gone to Aquib Nabi , Bhuvi and Rasikh Salam. Their ideal pace attack .... Bhuvi Nabi Rasikh Prince Everyone must be short and slow. Nabi's image is becoming bigger than Bumrah among people who probably have not seen a single over by Nabi.
