We have literally stopped playing Zimbabwe altogether in test cricket.

Perhaps we are the only team along with Aussies doing this.

Every other side plays test cricket with zim outside of WTC.

Poms Pooks Pakistan, BD and even SL tours them for 2 tests.

BCCI's greed is such that we only play T20s against them.

No, it's Zim board greed. It's their home series, not India's. Same reason SA plays only two tests against us at home. More money they earn through T20s. Tests are loss making for them.

SA SL type boards can play tests with Zimbabwe I am sure BCCi can schedule a one off test along with those T20s as well in July.

Even BD is playing one off test along with a limited overs series next week there.

So there is no logic that a BD or a SL test vs Zim would make more money than a test vs India

India A tours for 4 day games don't make money either neither they are broadcasted.

It's just a matter of misleading priorities.

Its not jst bcci, Ind teams calendar is fully booked mst of the times,  other boards specially smaller boards would like to get white-ball series in place of tests.

White-ball series with Ind team sets them good for 1-2 yr

They aren't even pretending to hide it anymore. ECB will move heaven and earth to ensure Root overtakes Sachin's run tally. Poms are already set to tour BD for a two test series in Feb, uske upar yeh. Expect more such tests against Zimbabwe and Ireland as well.

@Laaloo kuch nahi ho sakta, make peace with it.

How many tests in London next summer !!!! 2 in Ashes, this BD one-off, and the WTC final.

What are you guys assuming here?

Zimbabwe have struck early in the one off test vs BD.  Ngrava is leading the side.

Brad Evans is such a useful cricketer.

Zimbabwe is a proper test playing nation unlike Afg

@Laaloo Eng going to host a 5 test series against Pooks in next cycle, also talks with RSA for the same. They were just saying.

Forget Root, even Brook will play 200+ tests at this rate.

We should unleash Suryavanshi in Tests soon.

None of these boards want to play a test against India, it's a loss making proposition for them. Even Saf would rather play us only in t20s and odis, forget these boards.

BCCI can easily convince these boards if they want.

I doubt Zim board will be making a loss by hosting a test vs India.  They are doing so against BD and SL type sides.

India can also host one if they like.  It will be after 2 decades that Zim will tour India for those 3 ODIs in January.

It is BCCI'S own fault to be this greedy to begin with

It doesn't matter that they don't make money playing SL and Bang. If they see India coming they want to maximize revenue. We will have to ask them to Include a test in the middle of 2-3 t20s and odis which will become almost a month long tour. I don't mind it, we will learn a lot esp sending junior teams to tour Ireland in June and Zimbabwe at any time but perhaps bcci can't find the time and schedule for squeezing it.

BCCI can find the time also force the issue when needed..

Most of these boards will welcome any series they can have with India...  Yes they would love having T20s but BCCI can always decline as well.

Ofcourse being shortsighted and caving into Broadcasters is what BCCI actually prefers.

All of these extra games are anyways outside of FTP that India plays.

1 test and 2 T20s vs Zimbabwe in July would have worked fine as well in July instead of 3 T20s we are playing.
