vvvslaxman Posted July 20 Posted July 20 These guys don' thave enough matches at their disposal to gain experience. Harshit is the only one that is passable also he brings batting depth. Then you have Bumrah. You just need one more seamer because Pandya or Nitish will be your 4th seamer. All these experiments are useless. We have one more IPL before world cup. HOpe we find some more good bowlers.
singhvivek141 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Bowling cant be revamped. We have to stuck with more or less the same core (Bumrah, Siraj, Harshit, Gurnoor, Prasidh, Arshdeep). Revamp needs to start from 2023 ODI WC loss itself, we loaded the team with pseudo allrounders and won 2 T20 WC, CT, Asia Cup...naturally complacency is gonna set in. Now we are trying pivot on the eleventh hour coz our pseudo allrounders are becoming ineffective. Need4Speed 1
Need4Speed Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) So Gurnoor got hit badly in one match and we are ready to label him as a failure.. Arent you thinking like old fashioned TM and selectors.. We noticed how many times he has troubled the batters with his pace and bounce..After 2nd match we determined how the pace battery of Boom Prasidh Gurnoor and Harshit could be lethal in helpful African conditions.. we easily forget he is playing just his first series in England..against a top hitting side who was given an easy foundation to launch by other bowlers.. Sorry with this attitude we will be revamping your bowling every series..as we wont be blessed with perfect bowlers as debutants.. We need to groom the ones with potential.. Watch him grow the longer he plays with Boom if not ruined by TM instructions/interference.. I feel he is the most high potential 1st change pacer we have found in last few years..who can get us wickets in middle overs too..and guves us teeth..accuracy should be work in progress Moreover, only Gurnoor didnt play in IPL(apart from previous one off chances) so he never got to experience the pressure of containing the batters and develop some of the death bowling skills/temperament..else may have not gone for 97 in 10 overs.. He may again be hit for plenty but will get those skills with some more experience either in IPL or some more matches Edited July 20 by Need4Speed Mosher, singhvivek141 and express bowling 3
Stan AF Posted July 20 Posted July 20 There's nothing to revamp with . We don't have bowling talent. I'd actually make peace with that fact and won't get my hopes up for the ODI WC.

And had just 4 bad overs yesterday on a track where even we scored 360. singhvivek141, Mosher, Need4Speed and 3 others 6

Infact we cud hv won it too had we been slightly more agressive upfront or if we had little depth in batting order with muscle or one of Kishan,Iyer played a brisk cameo but thats a different debate express bowling 1

By that time their openers were set and rolling on a super flat deck. When you had a struggling Prince and innocuous Arshdeep operating and no wickets falling, why would you hold back your fiery in-form fast bowler for so long !! Lord, Need4Speed, Mosher and 1 other 4

Vk1 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I got the feeling Gurnoor was over bowled in last couple of months and he kind of went through the motions towards the end. Also, death bowling cannot be a revolving door especially on very flat pitches like yesterday. It's okay to be predictable with your death bowlers than try random bowlers for the last 5 overs express bowling 1

I fail to understand why Gyrnoor was brought after Prince..slightly newer ball and Gurnoor could gv better chance of picking up wkts and so the team express bowling 1
putrevus Posted July 20 Posted July 20 There is no excuse for Gurnoor to leak 97 runs.He is tall and is pacy enough not getting him early is no reason. I am not blaming him but if he is WIP then bowling needs complete make over.

Fought very well in the 2nd one despite our batters scoring just 233. The issues in this game were .... 1 ) There was no leader of the attack. 2 ) As Shardul Thakur pointed out in commentary ... Gurnoor, Arshdeep and Prince had never played at Lord's. They were having balance issues due to the slope. 3 ) Prince Yadav is not an ODI pacer. He replaced the injured Harshit because he happened to be in England. 4 ) This pitch was very flat and we scored 360 too. Borrowing Putrevous's terminology, ICF is full of knee jerk geniuses, on one hand they want to try new players but on the other hand they are ready to crucify them at the drop of a hat. No one is going to consider the nuances of bowling at lords as you have tried to explain. Need4Speed, Mosher, singhvivek141 and 1 other 4

Bowlers (Peasents) dont get second live in India cricket. Batters though can continue to suck for 5 years and the lobby will still back them up. Then 20 years down the line, we will still discuss how come we dont produce bowlers of calibre like Steyn, Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood, Rabada etc Mosher, Need4Speed, Stan AF and 1 other 4

Patidar had a similar start to his test career, he could be our own Pattapattu. Lord 1

They gotta be 75% ready already. They cannot learn things in 10 ODIs. So they must play all the domestic list A matches.
