I will take his overall average of 34.1 and see if it goes up past 40.

If yes, he stays .... if no, he goes.

It is not good enough, I will be suprised if he gets to play more than couple of series as batsman.

If he does then god save Indian test team.

He is back up keeper, nothing more.

Ashwin in media has been very good.He was very clear on Sundar. What is Sundar is he top six  or is he front line spinner.Sundar has to be either one of them to see long term test player. At the moment he is nether just like Jurel.

No bits and piece players for odis and Tests

Sundar can play jadeja role after jaddu retires. No 7 and second spinner

That should be plan for him, for that happen, he needs to back to FC to improve his batting to become top 6 or become a bowler who can be second spinner.

Right now he is neither.

i dont like 2 selections out of these-

Paddikal-i am not sure of his achievements, RCP Captain RAJAT PATIDAR seems an international player ...very suited for odi and t20 but could also fit into tests as well.  it's like who will u pick between Kohli or Rahane in tests ..from a stats perspective Rahane may also have a similiar average in tests outside INDIA but still KOHLI is a better pick even in tests when compared to Rahane. Exactly like that RAJAT Patidar is a higher grade batsmen compared to paddikal.

Rishabh Pant.---has fitness and stamina issues , has temperament issues, has batting SKILLS issue too.

Rajat was selected for England test series. He played 3 test ,6 innings and scored 63 runs.

Paddikal replaced him and scored 65 in 1 inning.

first in test matches outside India - one is kind of destined to get out soon (scoring a 30 on a green pitch is harder than scoring a 100 on an indian patta) Rajat patidar also failed like many.

but i am kind of convinced that RAJAT has skills to succeed in international cricket and Sudarshan too has skills but abhimanyu eswaran and Paddikkal are not as good as both of them.

Paddikal - earlier had only defensive game exactly like chettashwar pujara and bcos indian pitches are patta's, he managed to attack and create an attacking game on PATTA wickets. But against International attacks on green wickets only his defensive game will come out. Personally, i do not want another PUJARA in our team.

abhimanyu- a domestic hero but a failure in international cricket.

Vaibhav suryavanshi was hiting 70's and 100's in iPL...he scored some 30 odd runs in 2 t20 matches in england ( that also not a green wicket), archer got him out every time.

point i am saying is scoring on indian patta's or simple patta wickets and scoring in SENA countries against dangerous attacks on better pitches are two different things.

As an opening batsman i hated myself when i got out in first over on elf vengsarkar pitch  ...i probably got out on the third ball caught by keeper and i missed one ball and one catch was missed by the keeper and first slip of the other ball.

briefly i literally could have got out 3 times of 3 balls against a fast bowler on a greenish wicket, one keeper missed as it was probably a first slip catch and he dived..one he caught , one ball i tried my best to touch but i missed. on a green wicket, surviving every ball is a struggle.

i dont want to write about my big shots thru my BAT bought from meerut ( on patta wickets).

i truly beleive that sandeep sharma and sam curran type pacers , i have hit them crazily on indian patta's.

Sam  curran would have been litterally hit for sixes on Indian wickets whereas he got kohli and shreyas iyer in england odi match.

Rajat is what 32-33,.. put a fork in the guy already.  He doesn't even focuses on red ball anymore.  He missed his shot when he was in his prime.

For red ball groom youngsters like Raghuvanshi, Shaik Rasheed and Yash Dhull type players.

I have a lot of hope from Ayush Mhatre. He just has to be mindful of his weight. He looked very slim when he was 17. Suddenly at 18 all buffed up. He has a great pull shot in the mould of Rohit. He will do well and complement Vaibhav in the future.

The Bambi players like their team is on a steady decline mostly kids are focusing on T20 cricket mostly in there,. Mhatre seems to be from that school of thought and it reflects in his technique

He may turn out to be a good limited overs prospect but I don't expect much from him in red ball.

But since he is part of Chuskis expect him to get a lot of hype and he will get opportunities.

Mhatre averages 65 in List A at a SR of 135. He has a solid backfoot game. Doesn't get tangled like Prithvi shaw. INfact he pulls better than Vaibhav

Shaw also had a solid backfoot game... His square cuts and backfoot punches were elite.

Funnily their technical problem is v similar on first look.

Mhatre has a better power game though & that's why he might do well in white ball cricket in future

Mhatre is great prospect if he stops trying to hit every ball for boundary.

Shaw had huge technical issues, huge gap between batpad was wired organically with his style, some people are born with abilities and weaknesses,he had that weakness of mid air front foot that delayed his weight transfer and caused not enough power shift, and offcourse the stationary front foot(Samson had some sort of near same difficulty for brief period just before T20 WC,but that wasnt natural he made certain adjustments which created that new problem)which would have troubled him anyway,it's a delusion that he had a solid backfoot game,it was all over the place
