That expectation was there in ENgland, Ireland as well. May be hs it alking from that angle. Rajasthan Royals matches had higher viewership due to him. He has become a box office player. This argument is not universal. It is applicable only for special talents like Vaibhav.

T20 batting style messes-up with test bat swing and batting style. Batting in t20s is about being proactive, pre-empting the bowlers. Test batting is about being reactive and defensive <-- these are 2 v.diff things in any activity.

Dravid is a test player so he would be inclined to see Test cricket gain its lost charm. Grow is probably the wrong term, what he probably means is arrest the slide of test cricket.

Good question, perhaps because Tests are the primary criteria for defining the greatness of a player. Sustainable performance on the ground for 5 days, that tests you skills across conditions. Its like in a game of balance which will continue to shift throughout 5 days and you have to be really alert all those days to ensure you dont slip when it all mattered. Unlike a T20 where a quick fire 25 off 10 can change the game...in Tests even a 25 off 10 or 25 off 200, both can cause a positive impact on your team. I understand T20 is flavour of the day coz it is quick and it blurs the line of quality amongst teams. A weak team can defeat a strong team just by a freakish spell or inns. You canr do that in Tests....freakish spells wont work there. express bowling 1

Most of the under-19 stars did play tests. It is another thing they did well or not. Prithvi shaw did play tests too. Agarwal another under-19 guy played test. Irfan pathan without any experienced was picked straight from under-19. Under-19 was the selection methodology before IPL. Dhawan, Rohit, Kohli, Rahul, Gill, Jaiswal are all under-19 stars.
