putrevus Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Does Bumrah even need to play these matches and we wonder why he is injured for tests and other odi matches. It is becoming increasingly evident Bumrah is wanting to become mainly a t20 player.Maybe his body is not upto it to play longer formats anymore. I don't think anyone would have objected if he chose to skip this series and played in odi series to prepare for world cup.

I think Gurnoor can at max play 1st game in NZ. He will play ODI series by the time crucial FC game at Hagley Oval starts. They should make sure every Indian test batter plays in that game... MK55 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) Absolutely pathetic squad and selections. Should have included both Mayank and Tyagi. No point playing Bumrah. Also, Rana is another guy I’m not really a fan of. This Guy is super inconsistent in terms of rhythm and pace. We’ve got multiple options now and I don’t like compromises. He should first lose a significant amount of weight, play some first class matches and only then I would have even thought of considering him. I keep saying this Agarkar is a lost cause. Him playing another series vs Afghanistan would have been a great learning curve in the flat conditions of India. Afghanistan is a stronger side than Zimbabwe. Bumrah needs to play the Tests, he has achieved 2 T20 WorldCups. ODI WC 2027 & Test Champions should be his next goal. ODI series vs WI followed by ODI & Test series vs NZ.
