I'm curious to see how others make khadi :D

khadi???sabarmati ashram ja ke dekho gujju bhai...

As for Kadhi.....

I make pakoras with chopped green vegges(only way my brat will have greens willingly.)....like bhajjias.

Then I make kadhi with half curd and half sour buttermilk and besan .

I put mustard and curry leaves ka tadka(usually it is methi but it tends to taste bitter and the brat spits it out)

Add the besan/curd+buttermilk  to the tadka...add red chilly powder, dhania powder, haldi(hold the salt till the end)

Let it cook .Add salt and pakoras.....simmer for a few minutes.Serve with  rice.

Andhra we make this same thing without the bhajis and besan. We add Onions and the tadka. No methi.

Ya thats the one. In Delhi and in Lucknow, where my grandmom was from, it is often called Arhar and hence we are used to calling it Arhar. In Punjab they call Arhar too mostly but not many used to eat when I used to visit my relatvies in Punjab.
