I like raw daal straight out of the pressure cooker without adding any jeera, ghee, chilli or garlic. Same here. I also like simple daal with just salt. When you say Daal, we are in this big amazing world which has plenty of them out there. my favorite is Arhar Dal, because of the way our family has been making with their traditional recipe. But I do like other ones too and eat a lot. which one you eat? sscomp32 and MechEng 2

I love kaali daal also, but would prefer to eat it at any restaurant in Delhi or a proper non mainstream north Indian restaurant in Mumbai! Cricketics 1
Laaloo Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) Traditional Gujarati food after long time Khichdi with kadhi @radhika That's dahi with a bit of besan. Ginger garlic paste. Haldi dhania aur rye aur jeera ka masala. Came out really good. P.S Reminds me of my childhood in the villages. I used to eat khichdi with 2 big spoons of ghee and huge chunks of sugar(the ones you get in india) and then used to sleep for a few hours ;( miss those times Edited December 16, 2016 by laaloo beetle and MechEng 2

Even in South we do not put pakoras. The only time i saw kadhi with pakoras was when i had lunch at a punjabi friend's house. Although i liked it i thought it was very a heavy dish. beetle 1
